Katherine Legge could have had a good Indycar career if she'd had more than one full time season. She was improving by the end of her 2012 year, there just wasn't the funding for another. Great to see her back here, and she managed to outqualify all her team mates. Unfortunate that the RLL cars are so bad this year. Also, a very unfortunate title given the repairs that had to be done to the barrier after the crash...

She’s a real veteran. She was at Laguna Seca two weeks ago racing sports cars. She’s just like any other racer trying to maintain a career. There’s great rides and then there are routine rides. The routine rides are the overwhelming majority but she’s making a living and is a good investment for sponsors. Not her first big wreck either. Had a horrible wreck at Road America during the Champ Car days.

You make it sound like she is the first woman to be in the Indy 500, which is not even close to the truth. Your big headline could have been beating her 3 full time teammates as she struggled to make the field, which in and of itself is an incredible story to cover. But no. She's a testament to the safety of motorsports today. If ur familiar w her at all u know her "career" is full of massive crashes. She's never sit in a race car she didn't like to wreck. She'll most likely crash out Sunday, probably in hella fashion. The rough part is the innocent drivers getting caught up in her mess. They enter turn 1 pushing 240mph, and 1/3rd of the field watches the other 16 races on tv so most haven't even sit in an IndyCar this year. The guy she drove thru broke his back, so he's obviously out of the race. She breaks a lot more than the alleged "barriers"

We don’t have to tear down one woman to lift up another. Legge has been a barrier breaker her whole career, with success in multiple series. Danica was to most competitive Rahal/Letterman car for multiple years at the 500 and nearly won the race. She also won in Japan which was about as barrier breaking as it gets. Let’s celebrate that the sport is becoming more diverse because obviously the more people are competing, the more countries that care about the sport, the better for the series and more broadly the world.

Now she’s on TV talking F1 has no idea what she’s talking about. She’s anti feminism. She used sex appeal to get sponsorship and kept seats for herself that she had no talent to be in. Simona is the true female elite driver. Not Danica.
