Hey, love watching your vids! A little tip that you might not know that will save some energy is to blow through the gas filler hole creating pressure in the tank and the gas will go to the carbs in seconds. Saves a lot of pulling!

I've stopped buying brake clean by the can, get yourself a 20L pail from Wurth/Napa/Piston Ring and a pressurized sprayer. You can also use a normal spray bottle to squirt it on and then hit it with a blast of air from a compressor and everything comes right off. I always clean the outside of my parts as much as I clean the inside too though, so I go through cleaner like crazy. The cans with a straw come in handy for carb cleaning, but I use carb cleaner for that.

Its hard to measure a jet diameter, but easy to ream one to a size. If you find that a jethole is corroded, or otherwise gone too big, heat it up, solder it up, blow out excess solder while molten and ream to size.

Does belt deflection, tighten the belt ? If not , is there a tensioner?
@rednecksdirtyhands Жыл бұрын
the belt deflection just refers to how tight or loose the belt is. to adjust the amount of deflection is done by adjusting the secondary clutch sheaves. not all are done the same way, some use shims where as others use an adjustable setup with some sort of adjuster bolt. you'd have to check what setup you have to adjust it properly. hope that helps! 🍻

Pete: Wasn't the Indy 500 a middle of the road twin as apposed to some pricier models? And does Kyle know how lucky he is to have a friend/mechanic whom not only knows what he's doing, but knows how to look good doin it? Your description of every tool you used and most of the tribulations and many tricks of the trade almost makes you the Penn & Teller of Snowmobile Mechanics.. With Polaris known for starting beautifully, 19 pulls seems a bit much, but maybe it's because the carbs are economical eh? On a side note, you boys have a Krispy Kreme shop nearby? I was going to comment that you should do a trial without the studs, but you took care of that bny minute 32. RedNecks & Dirty Hands is the Best Snowmobile Fixin You Tube site in the World.
