It's great to see the atmosphere around the Indy drivers, the way they behave each other. You see they are almost friends, at least out of the track. This is something we will never see in F1.

I was rooting for him from Kerala, India, watching on KZbin! My Net connection ran out in the early stages of the race, at around 11 and then I plugged in an alternate connection to ensure I didn't miss anything.

Alonso seemed to have had a great time running the Indianapolis 500. Smiling and enjoying racing again. Hate his engine let go but would love to see him come back to run Indy again or even come to Indycar full time...... I'd be depressed if I had to get back in that POS McLaren he has to drive the rest of the year..........and a really great interview by Vin Diesel. Lol!!!!!!!

I'm not sure. Brazilians have raced and done well often at Indy. Back in the Fittipaldi prime years I'm sure viewership was high also.

@@henry247 Like I said, I am not totally sure, but pre-split the Indy 500 was a bigger event. I remember Gugelmin was hailed as a hero in Brazil because he led some laps in 1995. You had others in the early 90s like Christian Fittipaldi and Boesel also running well and Brazilian viewership was huge.
