I'm so happy that various motorsports have embraced iRacing as an alternative to having no motorsport at all, during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. A lot of these virtual races have been far, far more entertaining than the actual real-life ones over the past few years.

I've become a huge fan over the last year and I think that while this crisis is an awful, awful thing, it may just be the thing for E-sports like this. I'm so impressed that this race was literally broadcast on television worldwide.

As a racing fan since the late 1980s, I approve of this sentiment of yours. I just spent 4 hours watching David Land stream some of the most ridiculous, hilarious, fun sim-racing debacles I've ever seen -- was never intended to be serious, and in the last race, he started deliberately launching his Trophy Truck over a barrier on the Roval at Charlotte, and imploring the other racers in his iRacing session to join in... and they DID. It was some of the dumbest, most hilarious fun I've had watching sim racing, ever.

I think the blinking in iracing needs a rethink. The crash at the start was caused by one driver slowing down in response to this and then getting rear ended.

Impossible to fix due to latency, also caused by the maximum speed of light. The fact that it doesn't happen all the time is already very impressive when you consider that. (Their programming is the best in the market at minimizing this problem, fixing it is impossible.)

Grumpy OldMan i think thats a security measure and done on purpose. In normal races with beginners there are often people that try to ram people or crash into them on purpose. Some also drive the other way around to ruin the races for all others. Thats why the car becomes transparent i think. So stuff like that doesn‘t happen. But i guess they could turn it off if they wanted to
