Aye, Britain is the roadworks capital of the world! 🌎 We've travelled thousands of miles across Europe with very minimal issues if any. Arrive in Dover and hit with queues, cones, barriers and average speed limits for the majority of the country, that's if your car has not been destroyed by pothole craters!

According to Autocar, INEOS sold 847 Grenadiers across the whole of Europe, which includes the UK from Jan to end of August this year. That is apparently 35% less than the same period last year. By comparison for the last financial year, JLR sold around 114,000 new Defenders worldwide.

Evening all. Looks like the jet setting lifestyle is catching up with Ped! Danny Ric - I think he’ll be back. The sport needs some characters. I’m going to the Qatar Gp in December. Re Ineos halting production due to component supply issues, recall Ford halting Fiesta production in Germany for the same sort of reason some while back, something to do with no tailgate hinges being available. Not sure how long this went on for.

I agree when you’re talking about Daniel his personality outshined his ability, regards the fastest lap how can that happen? Yet again, proven that the modern Formula One has too many holes as far as I’m concerned it’s been declined for some years, Surely the solution is only the top 10 can get points from fastest lap if no one in the top 10 gets the fastest lap then no points given or taken away

In the UK at least, sales numbers for Ineos have been poor this year. Just 187 passenger vehicles to end August (583 for similar period last year) and 16 vehicles taxed as commercials (67 for equivalent period last year). No wonder electric Fusilier was cancelled. They must be losing a fortune on this venture. Could this be the last nail in the coffin?

The initial bubble has burst, as I thought it would. However, that number is even worse than my low expectations and is only enough to keep one dealer site going, let alone a nationwide network. They got so much wrong from the design stage and not taking into account various countries taxation class qualification weight requirements

The Grenadier is piling up on the dealer lots. My local dealer has over 30 sitting there. I’m in Southern Cal and just saw one today in the wild. First time in three months! It had Idaho plates on it so not even a Californian car! No-one is buying them. The supplier thing is an excuse to shut down production for a while. Maybe if they made it steer properly people would buy it, and don’t use solid axles as an excuse - my Wrangler steers fine.

@@steveallan3306 True it was only a test drive and that was enough to show rhe steering was seriously lacking. You may be used to it now after all those miles but that is a big problem for Inneos as people get a test ride that lasts maybe a couple of miles to make up their minds. Trust me it gets better with time is not a strong selling point for a $90,000 vehicle.

Strange thing I’ve noticed about the American races on the calendar is how they are spread out - they do Miami after Chinese round, they then go to Europe for two rounds, back to North American continent for Canada, then European rounds, later in season, they are in America for two USA rounds and 2 southern American rounds. The four southern / northern American rounds are grouped as a triple header (Austin, Mexico and Sao paolo, before a three week break, then vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi as a triple header? Could they not group races together a bit better for logistics AND actually paying more than just lip service to being greener? It’s daft to have Canada as a stand alone, when they are in Miami two races before for example - they could have trucked everything from Montreal to Miami in three days, no worries. Same with Austin and vegas.

It’s well known that Recaro, the seat supplier to Grenadier, have gone bust. They can’t make cars without seats. Perhaps Ineos should buy Recaro, as losing a minimum of three months production will cost many millions with nothing to show for it.

Still dashing around…your Air Miles must be staggering by now…😃😃😃….I would like to visit Wolfsburg but then I did visit the Karmann Ghia works in Osnabruck in 1968 and had a full factory personal tour with added soldiers (!!) as my friends father was the Chief Engineer! INEOS…serious bother there..can they not revamp with different seats which is a huge job but better than sinking the Company. The VW Golf GTi s very likely a rather good car but it just looks so dull. I’m pleased you are getting the Taycan…then we can all see if buying one at 50% off really is a super good idea??😃😃😃 Keep travelling….say safe…don’t overdose on in flight meals!!😃😃😃😃Richard.

Nice one Ped 🙂Being completely cynical, I think INEOS may have halted production to reduce production and help bolster used prices. They are down to £40k used. If they slow production and reduce supply then used prices could go up and a waiting list always helps win kudos points. The new Golf GTi has not been well received by other reviewers / journalists. In fact EVO refused to use it for their up and coming tyre test and insisted they use a 7.5 GTi instead, which gives more feel and feedback.
