what would be nice is to explain why they are taking so damn long to getting around to the business of putting the metal to the metal so to speak, I mean is it time to ramp up the RPMs or something? and why so much weight to such a large unit then that takes so long to get busy spinning at the right speed? is it needed to avoid it slowing down due to friction buildup? I get the reason why it is done so deeply with a thick layer pushing out, (push out impurities, which means if they had cleaned this stuff carefully under argon, the amount of waste could have been avoided. as well as need to have the centrifugal force to keep it spinning at the rate needed when the friction started building up) also if they typically use this on titanium, that argon environment could be used after removing the oxide layer that passivates on the titanium surface, so that less waste of such a hard to process material (ie get the impurities out of it that make it more of a rock than a metal) I used this on steel with aluminum, no argon and got about as good of a bond as you can expect (the aluminum on aluminum from molten ingot to extruded part so about as strong as aluminum can be, was as strong of a bond as the one between the iron and aluminum to make my rod with a slice of iron going through it (long story but basically the short is I needed a freely spinning shaft that had a section of magnetic absorbing material but the rest was non-magnetic so that the magnetic field did not freely flow through the hole the aluminum passed through)

Cheers

@ShredPenguins8 жыл бұрын
Views != trending any more and it never should have. Shares matter more, which is exactly how it should be. What also plays a part is how popular the channel's previous videos were compared to the one that might be trending. If a top youtuber gets 200k views in a day but some channel with 14 subscribers gets 50k and 200 shares, the 50k one is considered to be trending.

@ianmarkhammes20718 жыл бұрын
monto313 Because then you would have to cut the single piece before welding it back together. Starting with 2 pieces saves a step. When you spend the amount of money it costs for these machines, you think ahead about those kind of things. Believe me.
@tonyfutter74977 жыл бұрын
monto313 this process allows two dissimilar materials to be welded together so it makes components cheaper by only using high grade steels where needed and lower grade steel for other sections.
