With canon system, can yongnuo 560EX and 560III power be controlled in wireless commander mode where power can be controlled wirelessly. This model does have S1 and S2 optical trigger mode where S1 is simply optical trigger and S2 being a pre-flash cancel optical trigger mode but it seams power has to be adjusted manually on the flash in S1 and S2 mode

I have a question... Do you know a flash that gives you how far you should put the flash in order to get the proper exposure? I know that nikon flash has this feature. Thanks.

Proper exposure is relative to the ISO and aperture being used. With all TLL enabled flash units, the camera and flash communicate to adjust the power based on the scene and exposure settings. What it sounds like you're referring to would only apply in full Manual mode (on the flash). We don't know of a flash that tells you the exact distance to place it at specific Manual power settings. Did you have a 'for example'?

The Gary Fong Channel I'm a Canon user. But I watched videos for Bryan Peterson. He uses nikon sb900 and use that meter. In his book "understanding flash photography" he said: "most of today's flashes have an automated distance scale...". So what I understand so far from his videos and book, he put the camera settings in the flash and the flash tell him this proper exposure will be at 6 feet distance for example.... Thanks.

The Gary Fong Channel what is good about this flash feature is that you can use the flash off camera.

FYI: The YN568EX works as a TTL on camera flash. Right now it's $94 on Amazon. I'm using it on a Nikon (i-TTL) but it claims to work with Canon (ETTL) too.

Bear in mind that you need to purchase the flash that is designated for your camera system in order for the TTL to work properly. In this case, Yongnuo makes a YN568EX for Nikon and one for Canon, and is not interchangeable across those systems.

Gary, after 3 years im still happy with my a600 and zeiss lenses. I only had problems with the nissin flashes. 2 times the plastic sole broke. Do you have good alternatives to use with your snooth? Thank you. Gr Jan Willem Kooi

Can I activate this with a D3300?
@GaryfongInc8 жыл бұрын
Not sure on the D3300...likely yes, if it has remote flash control capabilities.

Thanks for the reply. I had a look online and found that it would not work because there is no "commander" mode on the D3300. Meaning it would not be able to communicate to a slave flash via IR. However I found a workaround. If you use wireless TTL transceivers, you can send the settings to any capable flash (either via another transceiver or the built in ones in many Yongnuo flashes) and trigger them that way. It lets you group your flashes, you can fire multiple or just one at a time, TTL or manual, it's fantastic. I've heard the Yongnuo transceivers (Around $40 on Amazon) were amazing but I'm not sure if they support TTL. And that the TX unit was great too. Since I bought a Neewer flash though, I use the Neewer transceivers. They have TTL, grouping, you can turn any number of them into transmitter/receiver mode (even though you'd really only need one transmitter) and they work across 14 channels. Also they're $80.

Hi Gary, I need a back up flash for my Nikon D7100. I want TTL so I can use the flash on and off camera. I'm thinking of the YN568ex. What are your thoughts? Where is the best place to order it? I'm concerned with dependability and where I can get service. I like the price points.
