I know it ain't right but at least he's alive and he was sure to be found; a young girl in Québec City killed her 18-month old daughter and left the body in a dumpster. I would have preferred the Walmart option...

I agree with you. It's not the nicest option, but leaving a baby in a store is better than killing it, like other parents do. At least he was found and is safe now.

No, you can only give up a child at a baby station (fire department) if they are 72 hours or younger. Which is dumb and why some people feel they have no other options. I don't think they should have age limits because some people think they can and realize after trying that they just can't and are scared of going to jail and have no way out

The problem of age limits is this when they first came up with this idea of taking your unwanted child to a hospital or fire station, people brought in and left their teenagers, disabled children, etc. It would be horrible to be old enough to know that your parents didn't want you. So they put in age limits. As far as dealing with their teenagers, etc. they would have to go to cps.

There is a general lack of support for people and parents get discriminated for housing and jobs. The issue is much deeper than you make it seem.

This is Outrageous to me... I Believe in Child Safety, and I have am Child Safety Advocate, However, have had a lot of Major backlash, Negativity, in regards to Safety Suggestions. You know we make it hard for these parents who can't take care of their children or who don't want to take care of their children because of family this is why they're always ending up not reporting the birth and killing the child right after he abandoned his baby yes but in a public place he did not leave the baby in the trash he did not kill the baby you left the baby in a public place I feel in these type of cases you should leave the parent alone because they did what was right by the baby

20 pounds is not a newborn and would have been a little bulky for that backpack but who knows. It would have helped people id if they showed a photo of the baby. This is scary because the mother could be a sex traffic victim who is unable to report missing. This is so sad. Maybe DNA can id if a family member has been to the pen.
