Good video. Made some very good points that one can easily overlook when buying a boat.

Nice informative video, well done. No bias just nice fact based reporting. Wanted a sit on seat, thought is would be more comfortable, changed my mind after the video, liked the extra storage on the Infanta so bought a 5.2m with 2x40hp Yamaha's on the back.

That is a very nice boat. One of my favorites. Very light and easy to handle with more than enough space. Great all rounder to ski, fish estuary and deep sea and the 2 x 40's is amazing motors

Ek sal verseker n staan console opsit. Kyk bietjie op Infanta se website is daar n baie mooi klein console wat ek baie graag op my 4.2 wou sit.

I stay in Port Owen and am a pensioner. I saw your clip about the infants vs the Gemini 4.7 I would be interested in a purchase and would like to know what price am I looking at? either a good second hand or new model.

It all depends on hiw much you want to spend and what size boat and motor you want and what you want to do with it

I recently purchased a Stingray 4.8m with Mariner 60 bigfoot. It is fitted with a 16 pitch and I am thinking of replacing the prop for more speed. I don't have a revcounter so cant check what WOT RPM is. As the boat is very light I am thinking of replacing with 19 pitch. The boat is only used on inland waterways. The top speed with the 16 pitch i got is 49kmh. what is your opinion?
@Bloudam3 жыл бұрын
Hi Fred. Depending on whether you want to use boat for 🎿 ski then the 16 would be great. I am currently changing my 17 to a 15 for more power in the surf as I need power more that speed. But with a 60hp you should do more that 49km/h. How many people on the boat. Try and find a boat shop that will give you one to test. Then you go and test a 17 and a 19. Should give you better speed but if you use it to ski than you may struggle to get the guy out of the water
@Bloudam3 жыл бұрын
One question on the 16 pitch. Are you running out of refs that you can hear the refs going up but boat is not going faster. Then you can go up a pitch

Good afternoon, thanks for your prompt response. Three adults on board. The fact is i have only had the boat once on the water since I acquired it and it was very rough and windy so could not really concentrate on the engine revs but was very responsive. I have previously had a 3.5m with 50 Yamaha on duck with a cat hull ( My first boat ) My second was an Infanta 5.2m with 75 Mariner but I have never had a Bigfoot motor before and I'm not entirely sure what to expect. I was given a 21 pitch brass 2 blade prop years back and I am eager to see how the boat responds with it. I was told that 2 blades is less friction and that the motor will require less power to turn same, as what it would if it had more blades. what is your thoughts on that reasoning. By the way i had to sell the Infanta with a very sad heart after only owning it for a very short period due to financial problems about 10 years ago.
@Bloudam3 жыл бұрын
That sucks about selling the Infanta. Great boats and great guys that build them. I guess the 2 blade vs 3 blade does make sense. I know that the 4 blade props does require a lot of power but also puts out a lot of power and is very responsive. So I would say that the 2 blade will turn with ease but you are going to struggle to get the grip you get from a 3 blade

Fish hatch very important especially if you land a Darodo, nothing worse than a fish flapping around a rubber duck with a rapala in its mouth, can do serious damage to both you and the boat.

I agree 100% but the setup on this 4.7 was really bad. My friends wanted to buy it but luckily i stopped them. They would have hated fishing on that boat no matter how good the hull is.
