I used to have an infant in my care who would suddenly cease drinking his bottle as he was held, and his eyeballs would suddenly go size to side as his arms went stiff, and it would happen ever so often. It was communicated to the parents, who denied it, and said they’d never seen this, although I witnessed it on several occasions. This was before the time of cellphones, and I don’t know what ever came of the baby or the family, as they migrated around to different regions and I never saw them again, after their seasonal work was over. I hope he didn’t have anything lasting. I had never seen anything like it. I would have thought it was def some kind of seizure. He seemed normal and healthy other than this. Very happy baby.

Mop Pet you would because these precious babies develop normally, in the early weeks they start to respond to voices and then smiles and recognition of family all the usual wonderful baby things. I was babysitting my granddaughter when she suddenly appeared to hold her breath and then seemed to have a really good stretch and I thought oh bless I've worn her out. She did this a few times but after each time she was unsettled and cried, trust me instinct kicks in. Bless all children with ws and the family. On a happy note Kyla is now 16 she is autistic but if you met her you would never know she's beautiful funny and sociable, her demons she leaves at home xx

I can't say with certainty about every single clip in the video, but most of these videos are definitely NOT infantile spasms but rather Moro Reflexes, which are completely natural and benign in babies. I think the creator should edit or remove the video - it creates so much stress in parents who might come across it. If you worry about your little one, take her/him to a doctor. Doctors have varying levels of experience in "baby twitches" but most can quickly recognize the most common and harmless ones. If in doubt, you will be refered, simple as that.
@Mrjakeharrington932 жыл бұрын
Hi Anton, FYI this video is infact very accurate. My 3 month old was fobbed off by multiple doctors/consultants and we were told it was the startle reflex/reflux and we pushed for weeks to see a specialist. Recently we finally saw a peadiatric neurologist at great ormond street hospital and my son was diagnosed within 12 hours. He displayed all of the symptoms in the video and more subtly than most. My advice would definitely not be to remove informative videos like this but if in doubt to see a specialist and NOT a general paediatrician, if that means paying private its a small price to pay to get a definitive answer. Studies have shown time and time again IS is misdiagnosed and the importance of catching it early before potential seizures start is paramount to the baby's development.

@yalondapickrel20585 жыл бұрын
It can be cured with certain medication but it doesn't work for all kids. Kids that have had IS often develop other seizures at any time in their lives. Some never have seizures again. Some go on a develop normally, while others have mild to severe developmental problems. It all depends on the cause.

Emma Wyatt That's actually true I'm a nurse and these symptoms are caused by Shaking baby syndrome, dropping your child, tosing them on the other side of the bed when the parent doesn't know how to Soothe their child or vaccinations. The reason why this occurs in predominantly Caucasian children is because Caucasian parents are beetle headed at times when it comes to government health plans and will allow doctors who have little to no information on the vaccine they are giving your child the ok to do so. Doctors receive $100 for each vaccine they give out and the money comes from the pharmaceuticals not the patients insurance. willingly poisoning your child because you don't believe your government will harm you is sad and people like that shouldn't have children because all you going to do is ruin this childs life over your beliefs and cause long term trauma like this... vaccinating your children is neglect and shows your level of love for that child.
@blissrock89296 жыл бұрын
Emma Wyatt In addition pharmaceuticals are now lawfully protected and because they are protected hospitals can no longer be sued over bad vaccinations. This means you vaccinate your child at your own risk. be smart....
@emmawyatt9326 жыл бұрын
@@blissrock8929 sorry, but no. My baby girl has myoclonic seizures due to epilepsy, which coincides with her having cerebral palsy. You going to tell me that is caused by vaccinations too?? She only started having seizures month ago at 16 months old. She hasn't been vaccinated since she was 12 months! Cut the crap and just accept that there are reasons for these things. Better to vaccinate your child than risk them dying from something they should have had an injection for!
@eyekandy30006 жыл бұрын
I can’t believe a nurse is spewing false information about vaccines. That’s scary. Maybe when you’re taking your Continuing Education credits do a course in current research on vaccines. Doctors do not get paid to administer them. There was a specific insurance company in one state that had a health wellness promotion program which included trying to get patients vaccinated- which is a good thing.
