How hard do you pull the strings with your right fingers when playing? There's almost no timbre difference between your slaps and regular fingerstyle but your fingers barely move, mind blown.

Theres actually a very noticable timbre difference, you just gotta know the sound of a dingwall. I do pluck pretty hard though. Finger style with a dingwall has a signature mid heavy growl which I love dearly.
