Just in case: do you know that you can make overwatch cone area wider (or smaller also important when you shoot over the back of your own) for your soldiers? I just never saw you doing it. It's ctrl+mouse scroll. Helped me a lot when I played vanilla on release.

A big thing to remember as well is that when loading a base defense, you can also choose to load in at your lift rather than the front, which can often put you closer to your hanger and on the upper floor. It does mean you might be a bit more in the maze of your buildings but it can speed things up. Security stations or multiple if you are in an area that may get raided often can be a good idea. It is resource heavy though.

Getting close to getting rid of the BS flyer at least. Double railgun might be a thing for sniping their weapons off before they have a chance to use them. That fire weapon is OP but it's accuracy is trash. The Base mission went much better than i tought it would the shotty and hvy MG really did some work. Shame you couldn't drop that fire grenade right on the big guy.

So I watched someone else's run in this game & it was more of a critique(currently discontinued), I didn't realize how unfinished the enemy balancing/UI/unit movement still is & on the harder difficulties while still possible to beat with the necessary amount of save scumming? R&G is huge factor in comparison to X-com, which holds the game back despite the depth of content.

Did this person run the Terror from the Void mod? One of the main reason we are doing this run is to to see the balance changes of this mod (edit typo)

@@paganhorde4463 yes, they were asked to play it by one of their contributors, I wish I could link so you could compare notes, but so far it looks like from my prospective that you playing at a lower difficulty wouldn't really be affected, only on the higher difficulties it's noticeable that enemies will have base 15 movement speed with all their gear on, & Pandoran's are base 20 for example with 1 AP attacks. He did a whole rant episode where he actually got to message 1 of the modder's about all the stuff he noticed on a steam board when he saw a thread talking to a potential new player.
