idk why profs try and overcomplicate things. thank you for making it simple, without you I would've suffered in my pre calc class last year and I would be suffering in my calc class this year.
@jacobn24612 жыл бұрын
It's not that they try to overcomplicate things, they're just bad at their jobs. Some don't even have a clear understanding of the concept and just go word for word from the textbook, like my current professor.
@Rr-rb9uv Жыл бұрын
@@jacobn2461another problem is they teach like you already know the subject. It’s so infuriating. Especially when they just tell you the formula of something then not even explain what it means/what its applied for

@benjamin36155 ай бұрын
@jacobn2461 this is the real reason. I've had professors admit they've never taught this subject and were learning along with us. Sometimes they don't get to choose what they teach and get stuck with they're given.

I’m a little confused. At about 22min in, you use trig values and talk about approaching 90 degrees from the right, you state that it is 90.1 but wouldn’t that be approaching from the left?? You say 90.1 is in the left quadrant as well. I guess in my head I’m thinking of the unit circle and approaching 90 starting from 0 degrees which would be from the right and it would be 89.9. Is that wrong on my part??
@benjamin36155 ай бұрын
Think the actual trig function on a xy graph and not the unit circle. Approaching 90⁰ from the right means you're heading left on the x axis. Coming from the left would be 89.9, etc.

You can simply substitute -3 to x if doing so will not result to n/0 (undefined). You can also try to substitute -2.9 or -2.999999, but the answer will still get closer to -1/5.

7:05 isnt the function aproching the vertcal Asymptote which is 2 ?
@JKMath3 жыл бұрын
Limits give the y value that a function is headed towards as it approaches a particular x value. You are correct that there is a vertical asymptote at x=2, but that is the x value, not the y value. If you were to graph the function in this problem, you would see that as the function gets closer to the value of x=2, the vertical asymptote, the y values are increasing infinitely from the left side, and decreasing infinitely from the right side (as found in the video). Hope this helps!

Make a video on difference between infinity and undefined
@raanoooshh92965 жыл бұрын
I don't think a full video for that is necessary. + (infinity) means that a number is getting larger and larger - (infinity) means that a number is getting smaller and smaller If something is undefined that means that there is no particular answer, for example when something is going to + (infinity) when x-->0 from the right side but goes to - (infinity) when x-->0 from the left side, as you would see in a lot of these practice problems.

At 10.08 its negative infinte if we factorize the denominator
@RaffaelloLorenzusSayde3 жыл бұрын
So, the mini negative sign means two things: approaching from the left and 0.0001 less than a number. The mini positive sign means two things: approaching from the right and 0.0001 greater than a number. They need to mention this when solving algebraically, or it will confuse some people like me 🙄 ..
@jeremiahnyagah49123 жыл бұрын
It does not mean 0.0001 from the left or right. As you said the negative means approaching from the left and the positive means approaching from the right. The reason for the 0.0001 is because we want to get closer and closer to the number but not the number itself. For example if it was 5+, we want to get extremely close to 5 from the right but not 5 itself. So what number would be close to 5, it would be 5.01, an even closer one would be 5.001, even closer 5.0001... that is why we use the infinity signs since it will keep getting closer and closer without end but never land on 5 itself. Hope that somewhat was helpful.
