the only reason i can think of the hand raising is that this is the only dance practice video i've seen them use mics...so maybe a mic check of some sorts and the people who we can't see are trying to figure out who's mic needs to be louder at which part....? i don't know just a thought.

so during the performances, the cameramen know who to film. they send their practice video to the people who organize the performances.
