Adding on to this: I've done this glitch for over a decade, I personally use Black/White Wool Hats about 20 or so stored in my Dark Garden, (Chao Garden doesn't matter it's mainly preference) abusing the Chao Data you can easily get 300,000 rings in about 30 minutes. 1 million rings can take awhile, but it's certainly doable depending on your motivation/patience. Note: If you're on GameCube to make this almost instant, hold _B+X+start_ for 2-3 seconds. This code resets the console, making hopping in and out of Chao World pretty trivial.

It’s actually awesome to see an Xbox version of this glitch. Funny enough, back in the day all you had to do was sell and just reset and the game gave you the sell without losing the item.

I know that on gamecube, the reason this works is because the game save where the ring count is stored and the chao save are completely seperate on the memory card. Every item you sold saved the new count to your game save so you can hit reset with no consequences. Looks like every version still has some way of performing this time saving exploit :)

Such a time saver I was doing the lost chao method but kept loosing coins once I reached about 500 because of a slip up

It’s cool and I appreciate you sharing this but I kinda feel like I can speed run city escape in about the same time as doing that twice and I just made 386 coins on one run 🤷🏻‍♂️ good glitch for when you get tired of running the same map over and over though. Trying to help my kids get more coins for the chaos lol 😂

City escape is also great for rings but this is for when you do get sick of it like you mentioned 🤣

If you go on city escape, and do the mission, find the lost Chao, you can collect up to 999 rings before getting the Chao however I also understand it does get tiring to play the same level over again
