The people who laugh when they think Noam is joking 🙄. Especially when he describes absolutely vicious remarks of American figures. After listening to dozens of these I have to say that he is definitely bothered, disturbed but not surprised by it. You can hear it in his voice a few times in this talk. He doesn't mention "I'm being serious" in this one though.

Wow, Robert Sheer (now at Truthdig) got mentioned in 1984 as the lone journalist in all of US media to cover that event. 30+ years of exceptional journalism!

The only positive is the military isn't wasting all the money providing misery to the world. Military funds high tech too.

Very impressive-sounding recitation of facts & figures, Noam. However-EVEN IF this is true-The WORSE that Chomsky believes that our Government has behaved, then the WORSE this makes Chomsky himself look, for NEVER having the guts to seek a Policy-Making Position, and-with his superior wisdom-Show he can do a better job than those he criticizes! smh

@@candlesnstones , Or better yet, Chomsky-with his superior wisdom-Should Already Know! Instead of spending his Entire career merely criticizing everyone Else from the sidelines!

It is important to keep in mind that as long he continues to gather, understand, and correlate information (much of which is available to the public, but none of us have worked to find it and review it, ourselves) he is doing more than his part. Must he also make himself a target of these powerful and dangerous people to spearhead the movements that benefit us all in stopping and preventing these atrocities in the name of the "state"? Prof. Chomsky has spent, literally, a lifetime providing us genuine scholarly research and gathered and organized information to show us what is really happening around us despite the great lengths these powers go to to falsify and subvert our views to their means and ends. More than he is a Linguist, and an Activist, and a Philosopher, and a Scientist, he was also a son, then a husband, and father, and now even a grandfather. Is 50+ years of speaking truth about power not enough?

The Worse that Chomsky THINKS that our Policy Makers have acted over the years, then the Worse that this makes Chomsky himself look, for never seeking a Policy Making Position Himself, and-with his superior wisdom-Show he can do better! Instead of spending his life merely complaining from the sidelines! Chomsky merely cherry-picking data, in order to support his own biased, skewed, preconceived notions about fields that he has never actually worked in, does not constitute legitimate, ' research ', nor contribute anything valid to society! And please, enough with the paranoid conspiracy theories about all the, ' dangerous people ', who are out to get Chomsky! People who live in the real world know better than to take Chomsky seriously at all! THIS is what is really important to keep in mind! SMH
