You showed an unlucky Gamer get disconnected just as They were completing a quest , and yes that's happened to me . I was playing GTA5 ,doing a Mission to "Drop off some Product" that was a timed one and I had some 30 seconds to complete the mission . I had literally SECONDS of driving to do ,so there was plenty of time to get to the drop off . I was approaching the "circle" marked at the destination , feeling confident that I would succeed no matter what and just as my vehicle "broke the plane of that circle " . I was feeling very satisfied for actually finishing successfully a very challenging Mission ,THEN , "POOF " , I got disconnected from the Server and FAILED . The issue was not my System or WIFI and the "error" message said " Alert, You have been disconnected from the Server , You are now entering 'Story Mode' " That indicates it was the Rock Star ( GTA Producers) Servers and nothing that I did. I was PISSED and almost stopped playing GTA5 altogether. I think that if a Game crashes or connection is lost through no fault of the Gamer , then some sort of " In Game " compensation should be awarded like in Game money , weapons , Character/ Equipment Mods ,or "skins" . That sure would take the sting out of losing progress or failing due to Game/Server faults .

can't you get that mission back and retry to do it within 30 seconds ?...doesn't sound as harsh as F-Zero GX 2 mins challenges in story mode//time attack mode with 0 mistakes(let alone using the snaking tech which is super hard to control without crashing in walls)....well i dont play gta serie..but that didn't sound like you spent 4 hours+ to try to get it done
