The album version of Catharsis is crazy! Very heavy, lots of changes, very proggy. The guitar on it reminds me of Steve Howes’ work on the 1974 album “Relayer” by Yes. And that’s a huge compliment, trust me!

There a quite a few acoustic songs by BAND MAID. IF you can find them try PUZZLE - full rock video and then acoustic video. This is a quick listing of their talents beside what you see on screen. KANAMI TONO - LEAD GUITAR - Plays classical piano since the age of 3. Writes the music on Acoustic Guitar or Piano MISA and AKANE contribute to the music. Miku Kobato - RHYTHM GUITAR - Originated the band and brought all the members together. Has only been playing guitar for about 7 years. Was the lead singer but took a back seat voluntarily! Misa - BASS GUITAR - Switches from pick to slap in the same song. - Played electric guitar in other bands before switching to Bass. Akane Hirose - DRUMS - Jimmy Page was impressed enough to meet her back stage. - Plays trumpet and DJ's on the side. Saiki - VOCALS - Plays classical piano from an early age.

All of their acoustic versions are from their hard rock songs, they did just over a dozen songs at that acoustic concert, which I did watch when it happened. It is amazing they are able to so Different, No God and some others which would seem to be impossible to do Acoustic, except this is Band Maid so of course they can. They split into pairs and triplets for some songs, Miku carrying a couple songs as the only guitar, Akane uses a Cajon instead of her kit and you will see all 5 ladies actually sing, yeah Kanami, Misa and Akane do some backup singing.

Kanami's bridge solo is epic...she goes full Larry Carlton (one of her guitar heroes) and Pat Metheny on it. That riff is immensely difficult to play on an acoustic.

Since the subtitles are auto-generated then yeah they are kind of always going to be bad. Band-Maid hasn't released official subtitles. Glad you still enjoyed it. Not really a metal band (though they do sometimes dabble in that area). The original song's genre is kind of hard to define as it seems to change it's mind a couple of times lol (similar to how the fast paced bridge and solo are starkly different from the rest of the song). There isn't a video for it, but you should still check it out! It is off their Conqueror album.

The original version of Catharsis is medium-heavy and good, but it's nowhere near as good as this (IMO). The song was clearly begging for an acoustic treatment all along!

Catharsis is actually one of my favorite songs from Conqueror, along with Page, Endless Story, Bubble, Blooming, Rinne... Okay, it's just a great album all the way through.
