9:17 the oil consumption issue was addressed by nissan/infiniti. they put out a recall that would fix the issue. what you have to do to fix it is to replace the piston rings with updated OEM piston rings. they would do this for free if you still had warranty on the car. oil catch can is a bandaid fix that wont fix the actual problem

Don’t neglect your oil leaks, it’ll help reduce oil consumption. Check your valve covers, timing cover, rear mail seal. I learned everything from this car, you’ll only have problems with an intake if it’s not the same diameter as the stock tube, so buy an intake with the same diameter where the MAF location is to keep the A/F ratio happy. Also the 350z in stock form (depending on trim) can weigh from 3300-3500 as the G can weigh 3400-3600.

A g35 never came with a hr in the coupe body style for anyone actually wondering lol was a 35vqde then some of the later 05 got the rev up engine but mostly just 06-07 witch were the years till the coupe ended. Sedan did come with the hr in those years and also the sedan is rwd on base g35 sedan then awd on the g35x sedan. I own a 04 coupe love the car it has its little things but I love the look the sound and I think it has a good amount of power for someone who wants to get into a sports car for cheaper then most and lots of things u can do that are actually nice don’t all gotta be ricers no hate tho to ricers 😂😅

I don’t understand how you say oil consumption can be fixed by using a catch can. That’s no different than the oil being consumed inside the chamber, they’re both being CONSUMED. The problem with OIL CONSUMPTION is that oil is being consumed and it’s being lost, which equals to losing oil and risking running low on oil, so how does one help oil from being wasted? Don’t neglect your oil leaks. Yes still use a catch can to stop your whole intake manifold system from being flooded with oil.

@@julio7275 I have 150k and yes I run premium. I do everything Infiniti tells me to do even using Infinti parts. Yet I've had numerous problems at this 150k mark including replacing Cats 2 months ago and then limp mode caused by a bad heater core and starter. Both jobs where expensive. The heater core involves taking off the dash so you can imagine the labor and G's cats suck to takeoff. G's are known for having cats go early. An now I worry about the dreaded galley gasket which typically goes bad in these cars at the 150k mark. I think Nissans are trash past a 150k and I will probably sell mine now that its running again smooth again. My next car will be a toyota Camry.
