You're most welcome! I've owned a few different makes/models and somehow Nissan speaks to my soul a little better than most. All of those are great options. For tech, I'd look at 2015+ options, and for driver engagement I'd go for the pre-2014

Excellent review my brutha. These Q70L models are aesthetically astonishing vehicles and from what I've researched,are fairly reliable especially in comparison to their German competitors. I'm in the market for one at the moment and I'm most definitely sold after watching this segment.

I was told by my Infiniti dealer that they were sued over the use of the letter M. Thinking BMW. He said other things were involved ,but that was the ligist of it. I love your Channel and love my 2018 infiniti m 35x..

I absolutely agree the 'L' looks better. The rear door on the non-L looks too short when compared side-by-side. The flow of the curves is much more elegant.

Totally agree. Until I saw an L, the non-L looked great. But after seeing an L, the non-L's proportions now look a little off and it looks a bit squished.

Love the video my man, I'm a big Infiniti fan. Also, you may know this but the reason they went to Q designation in 2014 is because Johan de Nysschen became CEO (used to work for Audi) and that was one of his changes. So it was a more German inspired change.

Great video! L gets the soft close trunk lid too. 19 models got rear heated seat as well. In regards too handling, when L is your only car and you don’t have many Q/Ms lol you won’t know the difference.

You're right, the average user doesn't have a Q70L with a side of Q70 😂 😂 That part was more of a warning for the "purists" who currently drive Q50s or M37s looking at a Q70L as this shining light on the hill. Or anyone else who has come to expect sporty, exciting cars from Infiniti.

I have the 2014 3.7L Q70 Sport you mentioned early on. I’m a fan of the sporty look. You’re right about the Q70L. It loses that sporty look but it makes up for it with the rear space. However I’m only 5’7 so no one has too many issues sitting behind me. I also feel like the car responds better in standard mode early on vs eco or sport mode. Or is it just me? Once you pick up speed Sport mode responds well but it is a gas guzzling feature.

I stalk the heck out of the popular listing sites. These days, it's just really CarGurus. I save searches for the models I'm interested in. When it comes to the V8 sedans, there usually are only a few available nationwide, so it's easy to keep track and skim through the new listings quickly. Few M56s, and even fewer Q70 or Q70Ls.

Haha, I don't think the backseats were a complaint in themselves (since the M is really a midsize sedan), but there are markets where long wheelbase models make a killing. So it was nice enough for them to bring them to markets like the US where LWB models aren't very common.

Am yet to come across a Q70L Sport,they do have Sport on the 3.7\5.6 short wheel base but I think they just have RWD\AWD on the L base

Correct! The sport package was not available with the long wheelbase models. However, they did offer the sport wheels and brakes

Ok so I don't know where else to turn so I'm hoping you can help me, I get the impression you know it all about these vehicles so here goes. A little way back I noticed my 2103 M56X started making making a humming noise when driving at highway speeds. Sounds like I have mud tires on. I've also noticed a clicking noise when I make 3 point turns. I've had it looked at briefly by a local mechanic who's told me my CV joints are good and so is my wheel bearings. I don't know what it could be and am not really mechanically inclined as far as fixing everything. What do you think?

I've got the humming noise too on my M37S. It sounds like a wheel bearing bit its not because the sound doesn't change if I turn and it goes away again at different speeds. Mine starts at 40mph, goes quiet at around 50, gets noisy again at around 60-65, then goes quiet again at 70 and above. Its really weird. Its not a bearing or brakes so the only conclusion I've come to so far is its tyres. I've only had my car a month so haven't had time to replace tyres yet though. If you figure it out before I do, please let me know! Regarding the clicking, they all do that and its nothing to worry about. It can be 'cured' by pulling the rear driveshafts out of the hubs, cleaning and greasing the splines, turning them 180 degrees and putting them back in again. It seems all M's, Q's and G's do it. There is a service bulletin for it too I believe.

@@johnj3577 so I had it at a transmission shop and they suggested getting the universal joints and hanger bearings checked. I didn't notice the noise until I put a different set of tires on the car. But I changed those to a brand new set and the noise continued. I gave it a couple of weeks to break them in but it's been well over a month and the noise is still there . What brand of tires do you have on yours? Mine are Michelin and my 56 is X model. I kind of remember the clicking noise from previous cars, I used to own a 07 M45S and an 02 Q45

@@johnj3577 yeah, I would conclude that in your case it is related to the tires as well. Although I wouldn't discount the bearings fully. There are common failure symptoms, although they sometimes fail in interesting ways Still, it seems easier to troubleshoot the tires first. Perhaps start by rotating the front tires to the back and see if anything changes.

Ok I have the same question I asked in your other video you haven't responded yet too I hope u see my comment on here, but I have a 2007 and my infiniti M45 was Hesitating to crank and the next morning I went out to go to the store and it didn't crank at all what do I do? It has the sound that it want to crank but doesn't and what could it be?

I apologize, life happens and I miss things sometimes. Thanks for sticking with me. With these cars, if it is hesitating to crank and the battery is good (try the same process with a jumper), we have found that it is likely an issue with the camshaft sensor. Unfortunately sometimes these sensors cause all kinds of issues without triggering any codes or check engine light. One way to eliminate that possibility, is to just tap the gas pedal while starting it. *Don't stomp it to the floor! Just touch it enough to move it* If the car starts, then you can be sure it needs either a cam or crank sensor. I recommend you buy a genuine one instead of aftermarket, if you can do that.

The 'L' versions of the Q70, Q50 and what eventually became the revised QX50/EX37 were all engineered due to the demand in the Chinese market. In my opinion, Infiniti USA should've just made the 'L' the only Q70 available. The lengthened versions of the Mercedes S-Class and Lexus LS were upwards of $90K+++++++ at the VERY least. The Q70L in the USDM was an absolute steal!!!!

I been driving mine for a week and it's a really nice step up from my M35x. I thought there would be more that I wouldn't like about the Q70L based on "consumer reports." But the only thing I found that does bother me is the sun visors do have that pullout extension anymore, the ashtray is made of fabric rather then the tray, and the trunk seems smaller. I really want that old grill with the m35 strips rather than the grates the Q70 has. The updated strips like the M56 have strips I don't like.

You can buy the visors from the old model with the pullout on eBay and they should fit very easily

@@hyattgotti3052 Before you go all out on modifying your old ones, you might want to get the tape measure though. Compare the distance between the mounting holes on the roof/headliner between the 2 cars. Hint: it was one of the first things I thought of when I bought my 2011, yet here we are...lol

I think the opposite, the SWB is the orignal design and the front and rear doors are comprable size. The LWB has this extra long rear door and window and just looks goofy imo. This is always the case with any SWB/LWB car, the SWB always looks better imo, even going back to the nissan Z 2 seaters vs 2+2. Just look at how huge the rear door/window look compared to the short front door/window... Also compare the Lexus LS460 vs LS460L...LWB is always the afterthought and doesn’t look right.

@@sbnjoe4616 if you can fit in the Q50 and passengers behind you that is a good option. You would have lots of aftermarket upgrade options. The M56 is great for low end torque. There are issues to watch for around 100k miles and there is very little aftermarket support.
