Step 4 is the most difficult. What helped me is figuring out that I need to have minimal contact between my fingers and the pen. Except for the two small points where I'm directly holding the pen, the remaining portion of my two fingers needs to stay wide open so that the pen can rotate through them.

I actually managed to do this one for once. Tip that worked for me: use a pen that has the rubber bit as a grip. It stops it slipping from your fingers when you have to do that hard spin back to your thumb. Really helpful with learning

I just managed to do it properly! After a bit of practice, i found techniques on how to do it A few tips - when you are spinning the pen round with the two fingers (step 4), instead of focusing on holding the pen and not dropping it, watch your thumb. Keep your thumb close and ready to catch the pen when it spins round, and keep your two fingers relaxed. Its like focusing on how the movements flow together, instead of thinking of the current movement you are doing, think how it will connect to the next. Once i relaxed my grip on the pen with my two fingers and kept my eye on my thumb and kept it coose to catch the pen when it spun round, i could do it.

My advice is to repeat the transitions from the wrist flicking parts. Most errors are from the brain trying to subconsciously autocorrect movement so that you don't drop it or autocorrecting itself because it thinks the way you are moving is faster than your hands are used to or maybe the movement is unnatural, my overall tip is to just keep trying; I managed to get the transitions to be mostly smooth in just 30 minutes of practicing, I'm not the fastest at learning these sort of things, since I'm more used to restricted movements, so maybe you can learn it much faster

I think the real issue is keeping your fingers close to the end of the pen, cause mine drift away from the tip with each loop. I think I'm just not doing it properly and I need more practice.

​@herrforehead1279 I started out with a pen with a grippy part and practiced the motions on it mostly (obviously you're not going to go that fast) but once you're used to spinning in one part of the pen it should be easier to keep a grip on one's without a grippy part

For step 4 dont try to align your fingers, try to seperate them. If you want a guide here 1. Put your middle finger and index finger next to each other 2. Lift your index finger 3. It took me about an hour till it finally clicked. And when it clicks, it honestly feels so good 😂 The secret is that you have to swing the pen from the very tip.

I'm suck on part 4. I keep forgetting the moves and keep going back. Like I'll spin it slightly correctly once, then I forget how to do it. Edit: I'm starting to get it...but my pen keeps slipping down, so it gets caught inbetween my fingers. Edit 2: Does anyone know how to speed things up as well?

@@notethanyt What kind of pen is it? I've tried like 500000000 different pens and pencils and they all slip. ;-;
