I think the intention of the classified objectives is to throw a random element that you can plan for, but you'll lose effectiveness on other thing by doing so. The actual objectives though, are a bit too specific in points, and while the draw two pick one on each objective does help, you can still end up drawing the same card twice. I'm not sure that the inflexibility isn't intended, but there are a lot of things that can be done to make the objective deck more flexible, either by adding more functionality to the intelcom numbers in the corner or by changing the draw to something like draw 2 cards for each objective and then pick the two you want from the whole hand rather than on individual objectives...

You replace multiple draws, so you can't get the same thing twice.

Some factions are better than others in every mission. I don't see that as a very good argument either way regarding Highly Classified. I think it's fair to argue that he HVT related Classifieds are harder (generally, and arguably in the case of the Hacking and Forward Observing Classified) than the others. But as it's already a narrow difference, the question becomes is the game better without them? You believe that Infinity is already very random, but that's the contested point. Without Classified Objectives many of the missions become very easy to "solve". That's why I support them. Nothing to do with changing the amount the game is about shooting stuff... and I've never heard that argument actually made (except by others straw-manning it).

HVT can not declare Reset, unless you are playing a mission with Designated Target rule

I feel like if you want to keep Classifieds they need a rework the deck and maybe shrink the variance of some of them Objectives. But I think a much better thing to do is a give a pool of Classifieds for every mission and you pick lets say 1-2 of them out of a pool of 4-5. Malifaux does this and it is super interesting. Because it lets you have hidden info on the mission points which can lead people having to take risks because of an amount of uncertainty. While still knowing what the other guys Classified could be and giving you room to play around it. That is if you want to keep it at all. I don't mind something like Classifieds so long as they are more there for Tie breakers then key to winning the mission. But if you are going to do that you also need to make it so Ties are a like 5% of game thing. So people don't play for a tie and a Classified. Long story short. Classifieds could have place to make the game better but they a massive overall to do it.

Lol. Classified objects are great. They add a layer the the missions that challeges you ability to get. In addition, it is a special operations skirmish game. Infinity is a three fold, table-opponent-mission. In addition, if the mission calls for classified you draw 2 and pick one. So it is not completely random. Also, HVTs can't reset. I have to say, you can strawman very well. The real issue you have is with the core mechanic of table topgames. Dice. Infinity allows the most control of what you need to roll than any other game. Everything you have stated against classified objectives was about making the game completely homogenous. Yes, some classified are easier for some armies to get. But you still have to play the game. Also, Tohaa have the easiest test run process. The kaauri exists. I think your side of the discussion could use more info as it shows you really don't know why the exists.
