Infinity Nikki Fixed My Relationship With Gaming

I've gotta say that, despite being a girl, I never felt the pressure to not play or that it was just a phase (at least inside of my home, which is important). However I kinda forgot for a long while that games should respect your time, even those which have daily tasks. IN respects when I'm not feeling like doing much, it understands that people will stick around when "there's nothing else to do" because it is fresh and fun, not because they need to grind to roll on the next banner. There are days I'm just not into it, I log in, spend 2 minutes and log off, and there are days I spend at least two hours there. In other gacha games you need to at least spend 10 minutes and put effort in everything, which is the opposite of "gaming a bit to relax after work".

I've been interested in infold games for a while but I didn't know some of those facts about the company. I've been in a similar place with gaming and Nikki makes me really excited because I actually feel like the target audience for once. I love the older Nikki games and I've felt like the writing team does a great job with writing Nikki as a character and that has carried through in all the games. I really admire how they make her very determined and courageous, while still allowing her to hold onto her ideals that make her very empathetic towards others. I really hope that the writing kind of carries some of the elements that Shinning Nikki established in infinity Nikki as the game progresses. In SN we see her have ups and downs, there are many moments where she doubts herself and gets discouraged about the weight of everything on her shoulders. It makes her feel really real as a character imo, and it's really inspiring to see her work through and grow from that internal conflict in her own way.

I adore the fact that the style battles are the way they are. It’s so classic Nikki to have an atrocious outfit get scored better than an actually good outfit. It’s part of the very dna of the Nikki series, and it’s something I’m so happy with having stayed. I’m so excited to be along for the ride with this game 🥹

Today I did the little quest with the bird that lost all his feathers. At the end, I was sobbing because they're going to be neighbors! The issue was never my expectations, I just wanted cute stories to be told. 🥺

So I'm not in the target audience for this game, but I wanted to say that the environments are gorgeous! I would love to wander around around them just to see it all. And the minmaxed gear fashion battle gear running counter to the goal is absolutely hilarious.

Don't worry, you did not have to play the previous Nikki games to understand the story as each Nikki game has a different plot. But dressing up part is what stays the same. - - - But also I totally feel you, I'm happy to say that I never felt like I couldn't play games cause I'm a girl. On the contrary, when I was younger and my dad was pushing me to study he just didn't want me to play games rather just focus on schoolwork. But that changed as I got older and he got really supportive of me playing games, even asking me questions about what I was playing.

I played one of the previous iterations (Love Nikki), and something I find refreshing is how comparatively chill Infinity Nikki is about trying to get the player to spend money. Like, you didn't HAVE to spend money in Love Nikki, but my recollection is that any time you opened it you'd have to push thru ads to get to the gameplay.

I think it’s most likely because they understand that their current player base are quite dedicated and has money to spend. A lot of them played as kids or as teens who probably missed out on gacha but are now working class adults who want to make up for the outfits they couldn’t have. Plus they’re getting even more traction.

I honestly love this game. I’m trans and never really played “girl games” which I hate gendering games in the first place but like as a kid that’s what this would be labeled as. So to finally be able to just play some shit like this, it’s like catching up on a bunch of those games I never got to play without being judged, getting to play dress up in this game scratches the itch I never scratched for my entire child hood

Although this game isn't my cup of tea at a glance. I totally understand the idea of giving games a chance even if they don't look appealing at first. Its hard for most people to give things a chance when they're in an echo chamber being told what games are good and this or that character isn't meta, etc. Sometimes the best videos are ones that speak from the heart rather than detailed analyzing and fancy editing.

Honestly I love how you found your love for gaming again. Especially with Infinity Nikki ❤ I play since 2017 the Love Nikki game and can't imagine a day without a Nikki game (yes I play 3 Nikki games Daily haha) As a veteran I can assure you, you don't need to play the prior games for Infinity Nikki, bc they are different time lines. I can't wait for more updates, more regions and more lore 🥰

My dream game would be a game like Infinity Nikki but Sailor Moon lol. I still think Infinity Nikki’s storyline is a bit silly but I love so many aspects of the game. The music is lovely, the graphics are nice, the gameplay alows me to shut off and truly relax and also the women look pretty!!! Not half ass rendered 3D abominations created in a lab 😅😅. I feel so chill after I play and the puzzles are complex enough that my brain feels like it gets a work out .

i've been playing Miracle Nikki since 2017 and although i don't play it anymore, nor do i play Shining Nikki much anymore, i gotta say, Infinity Nikki is so healing, and it's something i'll definitely stick to long term. it's a breath of fresh air after grinding on other games like Wuwa, hsr, or hell even just regular gachas. Nikki always had a special place in my heart, and she always will. i really hope some features from other Nikki games like style arena (or whatever they're called in english) and nails get introduced though, i do have hope since there's 'coming soon' in the compendium now.

Oh my God I love your review on this so much because I feel the same way, I just don't know if I make any sense 😭 It's just I grew up playing video games and despite loving some boy games, I also love to play girl games or silly pet games. One of the best things about IN is how it still challenging while making me feel comfortable being a girl. I love it so much

Lol, what a coincidence. I decided to download love and deepspace yesterday, and played part of shining nikki a while ago. I burst out laughing (in a good way) when I first saw the weird dress up battle system as well as the strange lore, and had to share it with everyone. As a game developer myself who mostly spends my time with short singleplayer pc games, I was astounded at the sheer quality and uniqueness (and file sizes😅) of what I had been lead to believe were cynical mobile cash grabs, but these games are really built with quality and care. Unfortunately, the gatcha/freemium monetization models have held me back from fully experiencing and enjoying the games, as I find them extremely predatory and unethical, and therefore refuse to engage with them 😢 but hey, what can you do. Investor greed is a problem our entire industry as a whole is struggling with, rather than something unique to these games.

It really is a struggle, isn't it? For a long time, I refused to play because I didn't want to support that, but I've unfortunately watched as almost every game I played started to implement these sneaky monetization practices. Even games that don't identify as gachas like all the FPS I play removed free rewards! That's when I knew I was in trouble. 😓

I pay money to games that are generous and I don't really feel like im missing out. This is one of those games even though its definitely made for money. I remember loving club penguin and everyone had fond memories of that game, yet free players had to be practically naked and were missing lots of features. In this game you get a ton of quality content, hours hours worth. As good or even better than plenty of games I've actually paid money for.

If you like Infinity Nikki you'll probably like JRPGs like Persona 5, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Nier Replicant and Nier Automata. All of them great games with great stories that can hook you up for hours. And probably can pick it up and pick it down when you can. I don't know. I'm a casual gamer and I just gotten into JRPGs. But I do like almost every genre, and always getting updated on what's new, even with indie games

Try the trails series, koudelka, shadow hearts, and .hack. Fun games that are lore driven and are perfectly fun titles that do not have perfect graphics.
