I don't think a relationship while cheating on your partner is even considered a relationship at this point cuz that is not an idea of a relationship xd But the symbolism of Season 1 is getting through a separetion of your parents and getting used to new things in life that are changing beacuse of it. I had to go through a simillar stuff as Tulip and in my personal opinion they did it amazing in Season 1 showing it all.
