PFTW didn't let me down just because I had not heard any of the other songs from Panic! yet. It was the first album I had heard by them. I now know all of their songs though and I do know that some of their songs in the past had been more deep maybe...still I am obsessed with PFTW!! Lol 😂 but, it makes me wonder what is going to come from them next. What I love about Panic! is that you never know what Brendon is going to do next! He is a very unpredictable person when it comes to music! Lol every album has seemed to revolve around a different genre which I kind of like because if you get sick of the sound of one album, you can go to a different panic! album and not be sick of it because it's completely different.

Damn I actually really can't stand like 50% of Mania, it's full of a bunch of their worst songs they've ever made and it's actually baffling how bad it is. My biggest disappointment this year was Past Lives by Against the Current because it was SUCH a throwaway trashy boring pop piece of garbage and it literally had TWO actually good songs on there. The rest were either very okay or absolutely fucking awful. That album, and Disease by Beartooth. About half that album has pretty boring songs like Fire and You Never Know and stuff, plus as kickass as the screams are on Bad Listener, the lyrics are shit. Oh, also the new Escape The Fate album is REAAAAAAAAAALLY bad, makes the new ATC album look like platinum or some shit, it's easily the worst album i've heard all year.

The thing that makes sense about you finding DOAB not as good as previous albums and PFTW kinda dissapointg is that those are the albums that Brendon produced on his own lol that's his actual lyrical potential. Well, for some reason V&V is still better than the albums that came next (IMO) even though he was less experienced in composing. But you can notice how simple lyrics in TWTLTRTD are. Ryan Ross is the real genius behind most of what made AFYCSO and P.O. so great and unique. Don't get me wrong, i love Brendon and i think he's insanely tallented, but he'll never reach that complexity level bc it wasn't his. Honestly i think he should have dropped the Panic name a long time ago, since it's obviously just for commercial pourposes...

Thanks for video Hannah. You don't have to apologise for your thoughtful opinions on music. Loving everything that your favorite bands put out is not healthy for the listener or the artist. I agree with pretty much all the albums on this list, the other ones I just haven't listened to and therefor do not have an opinion on. I agree with Pray For The Wicked, I think I hated on it a little too much when it first came out, I became a fan shortly after DOAB, so I guess I wanted the first new album i got from them to be really exciting and it wasn't. It wasn't bad, just kinda bland even though there are songs I like, (personally I think the singles were mostly superior). I think Brendon mentioned in an interview he wanted to experiment with more genres like metal, although I'm not a huge metalhead, I would gladly take a metal album over another PFTW. Entertainment I liked, but I think it's probably because I listened to it before listening to Double Dare, so I just got to appreciate it without really having anything to compare it too.

I think PFTW flopped because it was willing to do something different in the pop industry rather than altogether. AFYCSO, Pretty. Odd, ,Vices, and TWLTRD all had intriguing sounds that you were able to easily recognize and be like, “Oh yeah, that’s the shit!” DOAB was Brendon’s bridge into getting into a more mainstream style but it still had some flair to it. PFTW was overwhelming to someone who strictly listened to pop and only listen to High Hopes (which is a bop btw). It felt underwhelming to a Panic fan that expected something that was trying to set a new standard for all music rather than impress a bunch of basic bitches (no offense to anyone who likes pop, I tend to just enjoy heavier music). There are a few gems from PFTW like King of the Clouds, Say Amen (Saturday Night), High Hopes, and The Overpass, but the only one I come back to is King of the Clouds.
