Falling leaf She was a falling leaf; the wind barely had to pay mind to her and she was already falling. Falling and fluttering through the air like her long abolished soul with no one to catch her as she fell. ‘Isn’t it amusing?’ She thought to herself. ‘Tummy pinchingly, totally gut busting that although the universe was vast and with countless mortals dying and coming to life daily there would be no one ready to catch her at the end of her fall as there hadn’t been anyone to hold her when she fell. As she fell she overheard the winds whispering among themselves, gossiping who the grounds had swallowd this time around and which skies had witnessed the most yearning; the unheard tales of romance among the mortals. Soon, she’d be talked among about too just like them and knew no one would lament her barely worth life. Vast universe but she never had anyone cradle her or hide her when the world turned their shoulders against her. She had been a plucked leaf for quite some time; withering and losing her color at a maddening pace since no one ever bothered to try and nourish her back to radiance and now all that was left for her was to perish. twitter:@julyswillow
