and families trying to make ends meet.”

SEEN FIRSTHAND THE IMPACT THIS HAS TAKEN ON THEIR COMMUNITY.

Augusta. And so we daily see and hear the stories of families that are coming to the soup
kitchen for a hot meal.”
ADRIANA/ VO: HIGH PRICES OF GOODS SUCH AS BREAD…MEAT…AND
PRODUCE…HAS LEFT AN EVEN LARGER DEMAND FOR ASSISTANCE.

Adriana Loh/ Reporter: “Inflation continues to strain the pocketbooks of food banks and
nonprofits that support Georgia’s most vulnerable residents.

Danah Craft/ Executive Director of Feeding Georgia: “ Community Food Bank distributed more
food in January than they distributed all year. What we're seeing is sort of the lingering impact of
the economic devastation that the pandemic has created for some of these families. And we
need more resources to help.”
ADRIANA/VO: THE ORGANIZATION FEEDING GEORGIA IS CALLING ON CONGRESS TO
RESTORE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF COMMODITY FOODS THAT WERE LOST
WHEN COVID ERA FOOD PROGRAMS ENDED.

Danah Craft/ Executive Director of Feeding Georgia: “We've been very disappointed that we
don't have more USDA commodities to help respond to this need. We're asking for $900 million
in additional to that foods in the next spending bill in order to help us meet the increased
demand for food.”
ADRIANA/VO: FEEDING GEORGIA CONTINUES TO FIND OTHER DONATED SOURCES TO
FILL THE NEED FOR THE MONTHS OF JULY AND AUGUST, AS THEY COMPETE WITH
