A few years ago I flew almost 4-5 times a year. Now I can’t do it more than maybe once every two years and the experience is like going through hell for me.

I can't make this up, I was literally just thinking how weird it is when you see kids in first class or business. There's nothing wrong it just makes you do a double take when your walking past one of these huge seats and there's a little person sitting in it 😆 I love Virgins on board environment. Its a shame Virgin US got sucked up by Alaska....

Just flown back Upper Class A350 from New York Yesterday. The A350 is so much better than any other Upper Class and apart from the funky tables that were tested on a stick insect it was great. The best thing about virgin is often the on board service which is terrific.

1st class Rach & crew :-) Hope poorly lady all recovered; I stepped up for a medical emergency years back as a RN it was terrifying but they have amazing support via phone to Phoenix etc

out of interest how does that work like i know they have access but does it put you in contact with doctor on the ground or how does it work please?

@Lucas McMaster it depends very much on the airline and level of medical support they have on board. They can get in touch via sat phone or radio if needed. Often the remote support is more about logisticsl support. For example, if a patient needs cardiac specialist services, it may be better to fly 20 minutes further to be nearer to a specialist centre.

Virgin are one of Europes top airlines and beat BA hands down. I love the club house and Upper Class. Back in the day, you could get a chauffer to pick you up from home. You'd put your bags in the back and you didn't see them again until you got to your destination.

Great review Noel. I would have to agree with you, Virgin Atlantic are one of my favourite airlines too. Never flown on A350 before, but 2019 I was lucky enough to fly Manchester to Atlanta on a747 in the upper deck.

I am a huge fan of Virgin Upper Class and I think the A350 is the superior equipment for this product. I have many memories of ATL; I've explored every nook and cranny of that airport.

Atlanta was the first place my dad lived when he moved out to the US in 1994. In 1995 I went over there and we we spent a week on Lake Lanier. We even got some Atlanta 1996 olympic jumpers. He saw the bomb go off too unfortunately. Hope you all had a lovely time. The kids are well-travelled! I also enjoyed your Amtrak journey to Chicago. Keep going Noel :-)

This upper class on the A350 is a yah for me. I love it! The product looks so beautiful and well planed out. As for the upper class on the Dreamliner, it would a nightmare for me as I alway want to look through the window. I hope in the future Virgin retrofits them with a new product.

I used to fly virgin economy every year as a kid. To date, still my favorite airline. We used to get amenity backpacks in economy with lots of cool stuff and the food was always great! I loved my Gü puddings.

I haven't seen my family for over two years now, they live a flight away. I certainly couldn't afford to go swanning off to America with the whole family. It's a choice of heating or eating. How fortunate you are to be able to do this.

Good review, the Virgin A350 experience does look good. My last flight was on Delta A330 in February 2020, flying the other way from Atlanta to LHR, just before the pandemic and lockdowns ensued. Atlanta is actually a pretty vibrant city I love the catty remarks….”I will stick with my electric toothbrush thank you” lol

Thanks for the review Noel! After enduring a 5 hour delay yesterday on a 10 hour BA flight (LHR to LAX) due to a blocked sink (yes really!) I've been thinking of making the switch to Virgin.

Thank the Yanks inability to plan their 5G network as a large part of that. BA, along with multiple carriers around the world, are restricted on flying B777s into the US after the switch on this week. It's resulted in planes having to divert, not being allowed to be used to fly there and a myriad of issues. This wouldve meant that where BA would've likely changed your aircraft to a 772 or 3 they couldn't due to the NOTAM ( all but) banning their use across a large portion of the US airport network. Also sorry to be the barer of bad news, but VS suffer just as bad delays at times for just as random reasons.,

@@jakehowie442 It’s not bad at all though economy long haul is quite a tough one regardless of the plane. The A380 is both spacious and quiet and is generally a dream to fly on. Unfortunately BA have had a a lot of technical problems and delays with the A380 so I think they have put them back on short haul routes for now.

I flew Virgin Upper Class from the USA to LHR in the mid-90s, and they had an onboard masseuse! Everyone could schedule a 10-15 minute massage - my appointment ended up being around 4 AM but it was still a wonderful treat and a very unique perk. Glad to see that the Virgin experience is still awesome!

Hi Noel.. Happy new year. Just wanted to say, love the vids, keep them coming you always amuse me with your wit. Just wanted to point out something incase you missed it, but when you sped up the takeoff and landing @ 8:20 and 28:35, there was some crackling on the audio.. Not sure why it only affects the sped up parts, but thought I'd let you know incase it's down to a certain piece of equipment.. 👍

The table is a big improvement over what they has previously. They changed the design during the pandemic but it was previously a fixed and rather uncomfortable table. I’ve flown the 350 UC a few times now, but I do much prefer the old UC product - the cabin ambience was nicer - more open. To be honest I find the new product a little uncomfortable in comparison. If there was a choice, I’d still never swap to BA though :)

I'm surprised there's so much love for the virgin product, it has got to be the lounge for virgin that captures the crowd and the business. As for the onboard product, like you said, strange door, table at awkward angles, probably can't exit the seat with the table out in any position, does the TV need to be stowed for take off and landing? The 'attic' seems to be just another seat, it's a long way from a middle east carrier but biggest of all, is no one going to mention the fact that the windows don't line up with the seat? Also, what's the seat actually like? What's flat bed like? It's lovely to see you all travel as a family, but I think maybe its too much for you to do and also give a comprehensive review. Maybe re title the video to 'Flying with my family'!

Yes it’s not a perfect or even great product, but Upper Class is business class not first class like on those carriers you mentioned. This is reflected in the price category, as Noel paid significantly less than most First Class and Business Class tickets. Delta’s economy seats can cost up to £1,100, so Virgin Atlantic is a good deal.

The new product looks fantastic, but the A350, as cool as it is, will never be as cool as the A340. I've enjoyed upper class on their A340-600's many a time before they left. There's nothing like hearing those four Trent 500's sing at take off.

@@jakehowie442 not really, most of virgins a340-600's were 15 years old or younger when they left the fleet and were always well maintained. They are a very solid aircraft, just too thirsty on the fuel to be competitive these days.

Didn't know you were a pilot. We owned a PA-24 for 10 years. I've gotten too old now, but put 1,000 hours on that 1962 bird in the US. Good to know. What about the "purple" . . . that's the only feature that might put me off. I flew Virgin Upper Class in 1986 in its infancy (747 "upper" deck in those days. Maybe that's where the name came from...I don't know.)

Hi! I really like your videos and know that you like to fly on the old/rare planes. There is a soviet one that you would probably want to fly on. It is Il96 and only one commercial air company in the world owns it. I am from Russia and I am obviously interested in soviet planes. The thing is, there are no Ils 96 in Russia (except from Russian Army’s plane). So I really want you as my favourite English speaking travel blogger to fly on Cubana airways and check it out.

Virgin Atlantic seem wonderful and after your flight on its 787 i booked a barbados holiday from manchester on one of those. Virgin promptly cancelled all flights from manchest for summer 2022. After seeing your reveiw of A350 I booked same destination from heathrow also VIrgin have been advertising A350 on that route for SEptember, great I thought, flight details arrive, A330 !! I cannot find one Virgin flight to Barbados usinf A350 Disappointing and seems like they are lieing
