I perform burlesque, and working within a culture that is often hegemonic, sexist, and patriarchal I use my time on the stage to empower myself and others. The action of saying I will do what I want with my body is political at its core. I use my skills to do charity shows striving for reproductive rights, and help my LGBT community with much needed medical bills. We do all have a platform to influence and engage in our community around us. It’s that shared human experience that connects us in mindful and meaningful ways. Love this channel!
