I remember coming home in early morning hours after working. You, my roommate at the time, sat up and looked at me. We looked at each other for a long time. No words were spoken. I was too tired. You perhaps not knowing what to say. The next day I learned that you had left the Fellowship. 25 years later I also left. 45 years later, now at 72 years old, I am taken back in time through your videos. Back into wonder and hope interlaced with sadness. Perhaps our paths will cross again someday.

Much gratitude is felt from listening to this, Theodore, as now some light has shone on an event that took place 40 years ago. My path crossed with an individual who highly praised Gurdjieff & Ouspensky’s work deeply as well as TM. He owned an esoteric book shop in London. Being a member of a select group he was developing Siddhis, powers and appeared to be kind and considerate. However, on meeting this individual, I was not drawn to what was being represented as a path of spiritual truth or these two great Mystics and their teachings. In truth I experienced a demonic attack of great strength connected to this individual. Through the Grace of God my heart was activated by love when thinking of a friend and a greater power saved me from being overwhelmed by dark forces. This talk above and the other talks about the fourth way /the work, are greatly appreciated. Thank you for exposing the misuse of power in spiritual development.

I am in a group, practising, trying to do, understand & so on, Even in the groups, sometimes with good will, sometimes in bad faith, the teachings are distorted. And I am really touched by your allusion to the sadness in Gurdjieff's eyes, which I too see. As with everything & in order that we don't go off in a false direction, Gurdjieff has left a written word. I have a great passion, a huge passion which in itself brings distortion, so I really feel that I should tell you how much I feel, appreciate your attempts to stay on the path of truth.

Such a sad history of how Gurdjieffs work was abused by greedy people. Yes, great sadness in his eyes as he knew what was to unfold……just as Jesus knew.

Did Ouspensky ever find the Miraculous... or did he succumb to his demons ?

It seems that he succumbed. He wasn't actually searching for the miraculous. That title was given posthumously to his manuscript by the publisher. His original title was "Fragments of an Unknown Teaching."
