By god. How lucky we are in 2023 that they recorded this show back in 1991. Two absolute legends, each from their own generation, laughing, talking, harmonizing. No ego’s, just pure respect for each other and their craft. This might be the closest thing to “magic in a bottle” I’ve ever witnessed.

When I was in high school 70s, when country wasn’t cool, my bff’s parents played HE QUIT LOVIN HER TODAY constantly on a cassette player and I fell in love with country music and in my old age that’s all I listen to but it sure has changed. It’s so awesome to hear ppl like Chevel and Ruby bring it back!👏🏼

Before I was born my Daddy was supposed to open for Hank Williams on the Grand Ole Opry in late 48 or early 49. His stage name was Jack Allen. He got saved 3 days before hear in Southeat Georgia and was called to Preach. My Mama got saved in same revival. He wrote and recorded Gospel music. Later some Bluegrass also. He was a Blessed Man. And could sing like a bird till the day he died. He could play by ear the guitar then piano. He passed the strong voice to me. I sang in Church. Still do at times. I sure didn't want to but he started encouraging me strongly at and early age. My mama and my older sister has a beautiful voice. This reminds me of what I was born into. Pure Country. Loved these guys.

@@teresamay6981 My dad's favorite song of George's was He stopped loving her today. My mom loved my dad but she knew that when I got married my husband and I were moving from Tennessee to Indiana and dad had been hurt bad when a load of logs came off the logging truck and tore one of his feet off of his leg. Some people said he was lucky to be a live. I know that's he was yet daddy was a work- a-holic. He was a supervisor at Chrysler for year's in Michigan and then we moved back to sweet Tennessee. He said he just hated being stuck inside a factory. He made a good life for all of us.

Him not being able to work anymore drove him crazy. I worked by this time and helped with putting food on the table. My older brother had had a car wreck and was in Nashville hospital for a month and his 2 friend's who where with him were also. Mom and I went to the grocery store one day and while we were gone daddy shot himself. My brother wasn't able to go outside but he stood at the back door and tired to get daddy to answer him. My younger brother was who found dad and yes he lived but he had lost an eye eyebrow half of his nose was gone and he had a hole in the roof of his mouth. Mom tried to be there for him and the doctors told mom that he hated the life he was living and they really didn't think he even wanted to live. He got a big settlement from the logging accident in

About 2 or 3 years after that. My dad's lawyer had to go to a mental hospital and he took a paper from the judge that he had signed. The judge had to order the doctor's to release my dad. What hurt my mom the most was all dad wanted to do was drink and she had to stay home on the days my dad got his disability check's or a good for nothing cousin named Glen would come by an MAKE my dad go to the post office and pick-up his check. He'd steal it and sometimes even beat my dad up. Mom came back to Tennessee when daddy died and she made sure everyone knew that dad had lost more than anyone of them knew. He had lost his well to live that day when that boom broke on his logging truck and if the company where dad took his log's would of just chained the gates together or told me logger's if no one wasn't around to unload with in 15 to 20 minutes then bring the load back the next morning. But oh no My dad had his faults and no he wasn't happy with his life after he shoot him self but he tried to make a good decent living for his family. Yes Dad i still love you in Tennessee.

This right here is what real country music truly is. Two of the greatest country singers/ songwriters there has ever been in music industry. I wish I was older during the late 80's ( I was born in 87 lol) to 90's when they did these type of shows all the time. Just 2 amazing musicians doing what they absolutely loved to do. To sing and perform for there fans. They didn't care how much money they we're going to make that night, they didn't need all the lights, and lazers, and smoke machines, didn't need back up dancers in bikini tops, little Levi shorts, cowboy boots and hats they bought that day, nothing like that. Just 2 guitars, 2 mics and a few others to fill in the rest. Because like I said at the beginning of this post this is true COUNTRY MUSIC!!!!! And I wish country music was still this way.

I have to respond to your comment you are hundred percent correct I had to text my sister and tell her that I had fell into the most awesome music like George said he could tell the PowerHouse that was coming up from Caroline was almost a threat to his Primacy but if the king is giving a nod I mean these two old boys were peas in a pod they both love to drink they both need the craziness of being on the road unfortunately Randy had to go through what I have done with two DUIs under my belt in The Last 5 Years that doesn't change the quality of his music he was incredible and the fact that he gives all of George to the glory of God is something that we probably will not see again just want to let the young'uns know

I wasn't going to Say anything, but I read the Comments that other people have left. Love both George and Randy. And IT'S the Best music on the Planet, Traditional, Classic COUNTRY Period.😊 George has left Us in BODY but WE'VE still got the Music to Listen to. Randy has had a Stroke. He Is In Recovery. He is Alive, Living, Breathing, in Therapy. He MIGHT even Read the comments some of you have written... HE IS NOT DEAD, IN A GRAVE. I Choose to Believe GOD left him on This Planet to be a Testimony to Others. I know Randy well enough to know He Sings Every Day in His heart. Randy's body will heal w time. His VOICE will Return like before. Randy's FAITH Is STRONG. If you want to do something PRAY for him. Send him Cards & letters to ENCOURAGE his strength to Keep Fighting and Overcome the Obstacles in his way !!! So we Can Share in a Welcome Back Concert featuring RANDY TRAVIS....

This was country music 🎶 at it's best. I am so glad I found this piece with George Jones and Randy Travis. RIP George and prayers for Randy's health. They harmonized together so well and their deep rich vocals surpassed all expectations. Thank you for keeping me up till 1:30 am. It was well worth it. I hope everyone enjoys them as much as I did. A special salute to all those who's songs they sang and already have passed and left us such good music and memories. ❤ Praise the Lord I saw the light. Perfect ending to this amazing program. Thank you Dad for all the music 🎶 RIP...Mom...You went to meet Jesus on Dec 8th 2023 😢 Don't worry Mom I will see to Dad while you get to hangout with my sweet Zachary and watch him skateboard the streets of gold ❤ I know you have peace now Mom and that makes me smile with the tears. Parkinson and Dementia are beyond AWFUL!!!! Thankfully it's over for you now!!!! Having hospice and being able to keep you home with us was a blessing indeed. That moraphine really helped you to relax as your tiny body shut down. I know you loved me with all your heart ❤ Mom and after 54 years of trying to just have a Mother that loved and appreciated me I finally got it SO THANK YOU I LOVE AND MISS YOU MORE THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW!!! RIP...Brenda Derringer and Zachary Grubb ❤ We will see you when our numbers are up 👆 🥰 I count by blessings everyday and thank God for everything...the darkness he has always brought me through and the joys beyond measure!!!!
