I think this highlights the importance of a backup solution for critical data. Its smart to create an uninterruptible power supply and power management in low power situations and isolation from power spikes. Remote management or shutdown management might also be important.

Yes I agree. Although I wonder if the influx backup/restore solution is designed for this or not. I mean what if the backup file is encrypted with the token and it cannot be restored into a new installation. Unfortunatley the documentation is very basic on this.

Does this have anything to do with updating HA? Saw a bunch of folks on the HA subreddit talk about losing history data following the most recent update. Didn't think it impacted influx but IDK.

I dont have HA in this server, so mine is definitely a different issue.

Csongor, why don't you backup the whole database on Windoiws/Linux level? (It can be a total or incremental or combined version)

@@csongorvarga Yeah.I realized only after several years that the IT at home is IT and do the same procedures as in the office.
