For the duration of this video, you can forget everything you think you know about what cars, planes, trains, and other vehicles look like. We won’t be looking at any of the common makes and models today. Not every kind of vehicle was made to fit a mold; some technically advanced vehicles were made to suit a specific task or purpose, and they look nothing like any other invention you’ve ever seen. This is a celebration of large, powerful, and highly specialized moving machines!

"Back then the D8 was the most powerful tractor Cat produced?" This guy is nuts, in the first place the D9 was waay bigger and more powerful and not only that they made the Cat Double-9 that utilized two Cat D9s behind one blade! This was way before that DIY D8 thing he features here and these were commercially available with the D9s either side x side or in a configuration with one tractor behind the other but with both behind one blade and only one operator's seat as both tractors were integrated to form one tractor! This was in the 1960's and 1970's and I was personally a mechanic that worked on these at an open pit mine site in the seventies. Like a lot (most actually) of these types of videos they are full of MISinformation and just plain nonsense and this one is full of such! Just google "Caterpillar double D9" and take a look at the variations that were commercially available.

The D8 was the most powerful tractor Caterpillar produced when it came out in 1935 and it remained the most powerful tractor until 1955 when the D9 came out. Nothing they said was incorrect the whole purpose of the D8 double was for people how needed more horsepower because THERE WAS NO D9'S UNITIL 1955.

Terex made a bulldozer like that as well . It only has a seat and operator on one side . You have the option of splitting it apart to move it on the highway , but thats a lot of work . I was going to buy one I found , but I wasnt allowed to take it over one of the bridges on the way home , not that I needed it . The accodozer actually isn't the largest dozer ever built, the komatsu D575A is slightly larger, but doesn't seem like it because it's not as tall
@jeremymeyer8800
@jeremymeyer8800 3 жыл бұрын
I hate to disagree, but the ACCO was 1350 hp from 2 Cat 675 engines It was built for one specific job in the Middle East. With political unrest that was going on at the time, it stayed in Italy and did one relatively small job compared to what it was intended to do. Thankfully it was saved and is in a machinery museum. The Komatsu 575 was the largest production built dozer producing 1150 horsepower. It is still an impressive machine.
