Murat Konar was the original vocalist on Information Society's first hit "Running". Murat made a cameo appearance during their show in San Francisco on January 13, 2008, to reprise that role.

I don't know if Kurt tried to embarrass Murat, but I think Paul Robb hit the nail on that answer. I think Kurt should acknowledge this song as one of the best and classic songs INSOC has put out, no matter whatever the hell means. One of the most powerful songs from 1988 album (the most popular back in the time). Perfect momentum in the album.

Just seems like one of those moments that probably seemed clever or funny to do at the time, but fell flat on delivery. We've all been there. The Wikipedia entry for "Walking Away" has an interview excerpt that suggests there was some resentment over the band members (inc. Murat) who left around the time the single for "Running" became a hit, but you'd hope everyone had gotten past that by '08.
