Speaking strictly as a Windows user I have found creating new trays very helpful. As they are created new tabs are added at the bottom of the trays section. The Default Tray is always first but I have added an Entity tray (which includes tags as well) plus an Outliner tray and a Material tray. The advantage of this is that as the trays open out there is much more screen space available (especially Outliner on large projects). I can easily switch from one tab to another depending on what tray I need. Thanx for addressing this everyday part of SketchUp.

One the greatest frustrations for those that use multiple screens (there's an idea) for complex modelling (on a Mac), is the inability to save a workspace that has information windows open and placed on a second screen. If you havent tried it, do it. Having easy access to the Outliner or to Entity Info - all the time, without blocking your model view (main screen) is as big a game changer as using a 3dConnexion SpaceMouse. Productivity, model discipline (Tags!), troubleshooting and so on - all become WAY easier. PLEASE Trimble, put some effort into the Mac Info Windows and incorporate MULTIPLE DISPLAY workspaces.

Thanks for the pointers Aron. I always have entity info and layers open. Feature request for dockable materials window on mac.

This was more about the differences between mac and Windows more then how to use them.

Great tutorials - not only for beginners, I am. I use 2021 in Windows and have two 4k Monitors - 32" and 15" on my HP Zbook G5 X360. I would love to create a Tray for Tags on Windows and move them out of the sketchup main windows to my smaller 15" screen. No problem on Monitors with the same Scaling. But the second tray is useless in my configuration. Sketchup doesn't handle the different scaling of the monitors (32" = 150%; 15" = 250%). What's bad is that you can only use 2/3 of the screen area of the smaller monitor on the left and the trays can't be placed correctly.

Hi Aaron. I work with Windows. My tray is always on the second monitor. I also tried this with several trays, but it didn't work so well. I recently discovered that if you accidentally close the tray ("x" it away :-) ), it reappears when you click the paint bucket tool. I'm looking forward to the video series with the individual window functions. Layer / Tag can be confusing at times.

I would like an in depth video on styles. I messed around with them a long time ago, screwed up my image, didn't know what to click on to get them back so haven't used them since. To be fair I don't think I have a great need for them but would like to understand the options available to you

Great new features, can't get these windows to auto attach and collapse to one another (MAC) ?

As someone with failing eyesight, I find these windows (on Mac) extremely difficult to use. As is typical, I keep the docked and collapsed windows on the upper right of my 26" screen (1920x1080 resolution). But , I can't use them in that position as they characters and icons (everything) within those windows is too small. To do anything in those windows, I need to move them more to the center of the screen (which, of course obscures my model). Then, after making any adjustments, I need to move it back out of the way. I see no way to adjust the size of the text or icons on these windows for better visibility. Sketchup Pro 2019, if that matters.

Hi Aaron, I am wondering if and when will sketchup step up and create a STEP file export so we can export to CNC in 3d since that is the new standard?
