INFP-A gang here! Guessing from the comments it's rare to see infp-a's but it's okay, I used to be infp-t but when I grew my confidence and took time for myself it changed for the better! I feel happier and I am also helping my infp-t friend to gain confidence as well and it's going really good so far! I'm also dropping by to say give advice: "Don't let others gaslight you into picking you choices that will end up making you sad in the future, think about it and be attentive to what will come after" "Don't let your emotions dictate your actions, get grounded and start with a clear state of mind" "TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF FIRST BEFORE OTHERS. @MsDoryLinda4 жыл бұрын
Busisiwe yes I've seen quite a few people take the approach of needing to be something else. I'm of the position that whatever we resist persists! I therefore advocate for embracing every part and taking an observer approach so we can learn what these aspects of ourselves are here to show or teach us. Only then are we able to be more wholesome. They serve a purpose, so they're of value. We do a disservice to our growth when we are quick to dismiss and cast to one side, you know!

I unquestionably started out life as an A. Always believing that good would triumph in the end. That being a good person mattered and that helping others was the right thing to do. Unfortunately throughout my life, people took advantage of my giving nature, they still do. I swear there's a sign on my forehead that say's "Perfect Victim" or "Sucker" because I've been robbed, scammed, stolen from, used, abused and victimized over and over again. For years I told myself that someday I'd help the right person and really make a positive difference in someone's life but all I've ended up doing is hurting myself. I've given and given and given and now, I have nothing left to give. For the first time in my life I need someone to help me and of course, there isn't a soul in sight. That is one helluva rude awakening. Painful to my very core. Life turns un INFP-A's into T's. The reality that everything you believed was a fallacy. It's truly heart wrenching.
@MsDoryLinda4 жыл бұрын
I can relate to SO MUCH of this!! I sit with you friend, in the murky and uncomfortable realities of life. When our hearts are as you've mentioned, we tend to derive so much of our sense of being and purpose in pouring into other people. We often times don't realize we are perhaps driven by yet to be healed places in our hearts. For me, I realized that I was very much motivated by being useful. My sense of purpose depended on this. The more people took and didn't reciprocate the unwritten psychological contract, the more discouraged I felt. All unknowingly and subconsciously at the time. So I hear you, I see you friend. I see your pain, I see your heart. What we know today isn't all we'll know or discover tomorrow. We have no guarantees of what it will look like. The best we can hope for is healed hearts, peace and rest for our weary souls ❤ 🙏

Great video thanks 😊. I am INFP-A and this sounds good in myself. I hear someone complain about something and I will always see a good side that in their situation it could have been worse and the good side of a bad situation. I have to catch myself from saying something at times as people at times want to just complain and vent about their problems (pity party a little) and they are not ready to look for the good that can come out from the bad situations in life. I am always a good listener and it is not always easy to not give a solution or good advise when it is not being wanted. When I think is is wanted or needed I will automatically give it and encourage people in bad time or good. I know that if you are sad or unhappy thinking about your blessings rather then you troubles can make you feel better. Of course some times I just want to pity party a little and morn about the what ifs or the injustices in a unfair world. I am optimistic & idealist.

In the end, the blame is not with us, but neither is it with our parents, they didn't actively want to be incompetent either. What matters is, what is in your own hands, right now. Other than that, things just happen as they do in a endless noodle bowl of cause and effect. Finding blame is pointless. In this chaotic mess that is the human experience.

Anyway...I am definitely INFP-T. I am more on the optimistic side of viewing things, but when it comes to myself and my self esteem.....my anxiety makes me incredibly negative towards myself. Hi! Up until a few days ago, I would have said that I am the INFP-T type. I am an HSP, and I feel everyone's physical and emotional pain. I have a hard time differentiating between my absorption of other people's pain, and my own pain. When your OWN senses are feeling other people's unhappiness, it is easy to fall into the trap of feeling personally responsible for other people's happiness. I realized that I have been doing this a few days ago, thanks to my husband, and a very good friend of mine! If you become aware of something, you can change it! I found my inner peace! I am now the INFP- A type! I hope that this post will inspire someone! Take care. Susan

Thank you for this perspective, I'm so glad you're fond of and are proud of yourself as you're 👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾 I like that. I see myself as an INFP-T but I've never really struggled with confidence but then again nurture can play a huge role in that. @imher60393 жыл бұрын
Based on the test I took I'm 42% assertive and 58% turbulent at this time, so I'd like to think I'm between both types of INFP. There are times that I'm very optimistic and I'm not really hard on myself and there are times I'm kinda like just positive outside and negative inside. But recently when I took the personality test I'm putting too much pressure on myself because I'm entering adulthood. I feel like I'm not yet ready but I don't want to be left out by others. There are more days now that I worry too much because I expect too much from myself ;3 and also add the fact about the situation of the world rn where everything is uncertain. (and yes while I'm writing this I'm on my INFP-T type mode)

@MsDoryLinda3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing this perspective. Personally, I don't subscribe to absolutes. I believe in spectrum rather than boxes people slot into. No one is constantly in a state of flow, they may have more accessibility to their flow state but won't exist in that state constantly. In the same token, no one is constantly minimizing stress, they may be prone to doing this but aren't in constant state of this either. More prone to, yes! In constant state of, no. Well, at least that's my take on how we move on the spectrum.

Love you for your amazing words , As an infp-t I don't think we need a wholy big change or change our personality type or acting like an infp-a even. The one and only thing as an infp-T we need is appreciation . We need only to appreciate ourselves. no one else in the whole word could make things of a little better situation or make a process . I also love this about myself ,only thing is that never ever we should say that is normal. No we need to appreciate even little small changes we make we just need to know , even these little smallest changes and improvements come from us =) Come on, We need to be ourselves, to worry about the world make poetry , worry for homeless, think of philosophy, some creative ideas come from underestimating nowadays lives , talking of human connections . Just we need to appreciate and be confident to express ~ World needs us just and only in our own way ~ I believe It's okay to make small improvements and changes within ourselves but not change totally. I'm still a bit pessimistic and I love it cause I can also look at the dark side of an issue , not only bright side. only thing is that I control my energies and I send love to myself. Thanx myself to have this special point of view ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡Love u all infp-ts We should be here to improve humanities , to help love, to help people get a wider deeper view on reasons they're on the earth, to help improve connections even though sometimes massive usage of technology makes us a bit far =) You are lovable infp-ts ♡

I look at my INFP-A husband, and he just seems so much more at peace. Not that he doesn't strive to improve himself, but he isn't beating himself up all the time about this or that failing or mistake or worrying like crazy about the future. If I could get a nice balance, still work to improve myself and make a difference in the world, but be more chilled about life and stop berating myself or feeling crap about everything that doesn't fit my ideals (I do realise some of it will come with time and practice, but some ideals are also impossible... sigh... But partners want me to change and I want me to change. So it's a permanent mascerade trying to be someone else, to feel something else, to think in a different way and act as if I were a positive extrovert. It is so exhausting. And in the end people leave me anyway or I have to leave because I'm no longer capable of bearing the load of nit beeing right. . It's a curse to be a person like that.

I'm INFP-A and I sort of disagree with this. my best friend is INFP-T. I'm definitely the one more motivated to grow and learn and change. She's more of the type to stay in her comfort zone and not question things. Maybe it's different for everyone, but this is my experience.

My tip is, this is a much larger issue that tips won't "fix". Shifting mindset or how you approach life takes a lot of digging and uncovering. Is that a journey you want to go on?

Is being A or T-type has anything to do with being healthy or unhealthy? Because I think when I am stress-free, I can be aspirational and worry-free, close to assertive condition. But when in depression state, I tend to be turbulent.
@MsDoryLinda4 жыл бұрын
I would respond by asking, how do you define healthy and unhealthy? My take is, the things you mentioned in and of themselves, aren't either or!! Being aspirational is great, but if one is ignoring feasibility and reality then it isn't helpful. Having a continuous tendency to worry simply highlights something else going on underneath that one would need to pay attention to. We can't have highs without lows in life, so depressive states in and of themselves are helpful in learning something about ourselves. They become problematic if the person then struggles to successfully transition through them and gets stuck. So it really depends on your take on what does healthy and unhealthy entails.
@syahrulshiddiq97334 жыл бұрын
@@MsDoryLinda Thanks for the reply and the sticker Ms. Linda 😁 I see, I think definition of unhealthy INFPs as per what I understood would be whether or not they stuck too long in the Fi-Si loop, because that may mean that their Ne parent is not well-developed yet to counter the loop. I fell into that loop and all of a sudden I cared about detail more than usual - maybe the work of Fe-Ti, or Ti-Fe? my Ni critical parent made me more pessimistic of my own future. But before I had that loop I didnt really care about much details, just lived how I usually lived my life. I was confident about future. And I read some comments here that people are experiencing the same where they changed to A to T or vice versa. So just like how ourselves can alternate between the four side of minds depending on our emotional state, can we alternate T and A depending on our emotional status as well or people can only be always T or always A and cannot alternate? If the latter then was that just me growing into who I truly was, and so I was never an A in the first place? Please do forgive me If I said anything wrong, I didnt mean any rudeness and I was just curious, I am still new to MBTI too.
@MsDoryLinda4 жыл бұрын
@@syahrulshiddiq9733 I didn't sense any rudeness or anything wrong with your initial response and questions. I like to sometimes respond with a question to gain better clarity of where people are coming from and to also help them see that they already have the answers, when they're responding to the questions I asked. We're all learners and there's always something new that we can learn from each other. Thank you for sharing your take and insights 👍🏾😊

Is it possible to be half and half? Because I have traits from both so I'm confused
@MsDoryLinda3 жыл бұрын
I personally don't believe anybody is an absolute of anything. Plus this speaks of tendencies at any given time. We however grow and respond to life situations too. So I think we can see ourselves responding to life differently depending on where we are at that given time.

@@MsDoryLinda “turbulent”... lol
@MsDoryLinda4 жыл бұрын
The way I see it is, turbulence in essence is having extreme ups and downs with emotions. That only becomes "unhealthy" when you then feel out of control with your thinking, feeling and therefore acting. If you experience "turbulence" and can be with what you're experiencing without them overtaking you then I personally struggle to see the unhealthy aspect of it.
@rainsummer19104 жыл бұрын
@@MsDoryLinda I like that! When I think of the word turbulent I usually equate it to turbulence passengers usually experience when on an airplane. Normally not fatal but it can definitely be anxiety inducing nonetheless 😂 The definition of turbulent itself is “characterized by conflict, disorder, or confusion; not controlled or calm.” Whereas “assertive” is defined as “having or showing confidence and forceful personality.” I think it’s easy for A to be seen as healthier or favorable over T in modern society. Depending on who you ask
@MsDoryLinda4 жыл бұрын
Yes. I think the key there is "not controlled" so if a person feels overwhelmed by the turbulence then that becomes a problem.
