Dear Lighthouse Video Surveillance! I am about to fit an IR illuminator (approximately 30m range)for the security camera watching over my backyard. On the other side of the yard, on my garage, there is a led light with a PIR motion sensor. The illuminator would be fixed on the house, facing the garage. Do you (or anyone here) knows, if the IR illuminator, facing the PIR motion sensor, would disturb / disable the PIR controlling the led light on the garage? I can't seem to find any info on this on the net. Thanks in advance for your answer!

I couldn't say for sure, but I doubt it would be an issue. PIR are typically looking for a crossing of beams being immitted. While bright lights have been known to cause false alarms (on security camera motion detectors), it is typically associated with some type of movement at the same time. My gut feeling is that you will be fine but if I were you, I would do a test prior to doing the permanent installation (hold the IR and intentionally try to trip the motion detector)

Can you use these lights in VR ? When there is not enough light in a room . Example . Quest or HTV VIVE ?

Sorry. I don't know. I only know of the security uses of IR lighting.

1. This wasn't a sales presentation. It was specifically answering the question, "why to use (off camera) IR Illuminators" 2. There were several video examples given for the specific situation discussed

091522/0245h PST 🇺🇸. Thank you for taking time to talk about IR. The main components of the features of IR was left off. Examples were few and unattractive. My opinion of this presentation is poor and or failed to impress, even the layman. The program was set up hastily. People want to see exhibits, attractive exhibits, which was totally missing. The question is; what are you selling?
