Reinstate O’Nien as Captain, with Neil taking the armband if O’Nien is injured, rested, or subbed. Dan Neil’s form should improve if the responsibility of being the Captain is taken from his shoulders.

Neil just doesn't look comfortable in that holding role, no matter what he says. He's been poor since coming back into the side. First half was poor, second half better, but a stupid mistake, from the captain no less, cost us a point.

Typical Sunderland again, West Brom lose and we have an opportunity to go top with a victory, Christ even a point would've been good enough today but again similar to Plymouth individual errors cost us at least point, I'm starting to worry now that we're starting to become that inconsistent side, we'll win then lose then win then lose, I hope that's not the case and it's again just down to an error but it just really pisses me off when we have an opportunity to capitalise and like always we never do, going forward when Browne is fully fit and Samed, Neil needs dropping, it's not just down to today it's been a problem all season, everytime Neil has played he's been the biggest weak link in that midfield, the Captain's armband is clearly to much for him and he certainly doesn't suit that defensive midfield role, I've said this in the past that Neil only thrives and looks really good when he's got experience alongside him, the fact that Jobe and Rigg are outperforming him week in and week out is very concerning and finally Tuesday is an absolute must win, I know it's still early but if we can't beat Derby then forget about top 2 and just try and finish in the top 6 if we can

Agree with most of what you said Thane, Neil has been poor this season and he needs to control that temper as he's quite impulsive especially today but he was probably our best midfielder last season and he had two inexperienced players in Ekwah and Jobe for the most part playing the role he is now, he needs to get his finger out if he's to earn a place back in the team, I rate him highly but this season he's beeb erratic.

IMO, Dan Neil has increasingly become more and more of a liability; if not the most stupid of challenges in the box like today, but his hot temper, and getting red carded too. Even his skill seems to have deteriorated, shooting wildly over the bar ffs. Saving grace is we're still second and hoping RLB subs him out

Dan Neill ,a liability and wasteful,Rusin , no end product,and Poveda too small are not good enough at the moment. Watson looks good , is direct and has pace,looks dangerous. Nice to see Issie get a goal , looks promising.

Jam sarny u always speak well and no what ya talkin about but disappointed why the still image is captain gives awy penalty & 3 points no need mate! Hes gettin hammered in certain quarters anyway he’s Safc through & through why we makin him the scapegoat! He hasn’t been great this season and his tackle there was pure stupidity but just talk about it in ya video no need for it to b the words on the still for ya video! I love Dan Neil but il also he’s not had a great start to season but he’s been put into a new position and it’s not helping him whatever! Lads this season have had a go every week we were poor today got back into the game and then should have realised a points a good result let’s get it especially after Plymouth! Yeah that tackles cost us the game and he’s not been up to the Level we no he is discuss it in ya video but no need for that to be the still pal especially when this season on a whole has Been so positive! The whole Neil situation is pissing is off tbh. He's being put in this deep lying playmaker/CDM role, when he's clumsy with tackles, made stupid mistakes (mainly defensive or when in a deep position), and looked better whenever he was further forward. Hopefully that player we signed from France will be ready soon, because Neil as a CDM isn't going to see us promoted. Give the armband back to it's rightful owner aswel, Luke onien. Maybe try onien as CDM with Ballard and mepham as CBs
