I Only Made Bridgerton Foods For 24 Hours (The Ultimate Afternoon Tea)

From creamy lemon cakes, to perfectly cut cucumber sandwiches, to hot buttery crumpets, and even the infamous Bridgerton lemonade itself, I challenged myself to only make and eat some of Bridgerton's iconic foods for 24 hours - a curated menu of 9 droolworthy foods, and 2 drinks. Or, at least, it was supposed to be 24 hours, until I realized the actual amount of preparation took much closer to 100 hours... But the dreamy afternoon tea spread I ended up was well worth it! And the closest I'll ever get to living in the romantic Bridgerton universe. Also maybe had a little too much fun finding all these fairytale-esque music tracks - I hope you do enjoy!
A very special thank you to Susan for her incredible insight and delightful recipes! You can find the official book here:You can find the official cookbook here: amzn.to/4c1Aa79

The lemon curd is from the jam factory near where I live! The company has genuinely been around since the 1800s and they make the nicest jam and chutneys. I was really jazzed to see the label pop up in this video! (Also the crumpets looked lovely!)

The YorkshireGold tea has the royal warrant! That tea is served to some of the monarchy (Twinings has this too since the Queen liked their Eng breakfast!) (googled bc words?) It is granted for up to five years at a time as a mark of recognition for the ongoing supply of goods or services to the Royal Household.

Since it specifically mentions the Prince of Wales, this is the tea that Prince William drinks. Or Charles at the time it was created.
@JamieHaDov
@JamieHaDov 4 ай бұрын
To get the “by appointment to” the royal issues a Royal Warrant. Anything that currently says “prince of wales” was issues by Charles before he became king. Starting in 2025 anything that says that will need to be issues by William. Charles III started issuing “by appointment to the king” this year so anything that still says his mum is at least from 2023.

@@IngaLam you were right it took so much time lol but it was so worth it watching my sister's little girls wide-eyed and amazed because right before their eyes was the tea party of their dreams. I baked queen cakes, cranberry scones, ham and cheese focaccia sandwich bites, tuna and crab toast points, lemon yogurt cake and sugar cookies. And since my nieces couldn't drink tea, I poured fruit juice on their tea cups instead. it was so cute how their tiny hands ever so carefully handle the tea cups knowing they are delicate. (I bought a tea set specifically for this occasion)

As a first gen non-Brit and someone whose granny cooked like this I can tell you raisins are not currants. Currants are their own thing and they grow either black or red. Similar to raisins but muuuuch smaller.

Girl you look so good in this video I didn't hear what you said for the first like 2 mins the hair the makeup the dress 😍 (also at the time having Lemons and any Citrus was kinda a flex that's why they pop up so often in the recipes and they drink lemonade so much and that why Queen Charlotte was almost offended when Francesca didn't drink the lemonade and having so much food out at the table was a flex too that's why the tables full some ppl might think its just set dressing but they really had those tables stacked to look good)

That was amazing! As an Australian raised on British food, I'm impressed by your attention to detail with getting the right vibes, in line with the show. I saw the beautiful spread and was like, "Invite your friends!" so it was so satisfying to see them share it with you. ❤ And thank you for introducing me to kippers - I've never tried them and am excited for an alternative to tuna, which I've developed an allergy to.

Watching you cook makes me happy. As much as I enjoyed the era when you were doing everything, I know it wasn't good for your mental health. You seem so much more fulfilled and settled now and that also makes me happy. The same feeling I get when I see a friend succeed, even though we don't personally know each other. Just like seeing Steven on Watcher, and Alvin on Babish. The familiarity may be one sided, but it's comforting to know that y'all are still doing what you love.

Awesome video! I think the "crumpets" in the Bridgerton still look more like fruit scones or Welsh cakes, but I'm glad you did a crumpet recipe anyway - I've been meaning to make them. The appointment on the Yorkshire Tea package means the brand supplies the British royal family.

This was all so glorious and decadent. Thank you, Inga!!! Living on a small island is mostly fabulous but I do miss having various “ethinc” markets within walking distance. As strange, or controversial, as it may be, as an American, I consider English markets as falling into that category. 😂 The best way, I’ve found, to get the perfect texture in Short Bread cookies is to use rice flower in the dough. It gives them that crisp, snappy texture, that I love in a Short Bread cookie. I got my recipe from my Australian Mom and I’ve never found a better one. ~ 250g (8oz) butter, 2 tablespoons ground rice or rice flour, ⅓ cup icing sugar, 2 cups plain flour. Rub butter into sifted dry ingredients, press ingredients together firmly, turn on to lightly floured surface, knead lightly until smooth. (This shortbread can be made in a food processor; process sifted dry ingredients with roughly chopped cold butter until ingredients cling together).

Wow this looks amazing!! I just finished the latest season (first half) of bridgerton and you were spot on with all of the foods and drink. I love afternoon tea and no wonder it's like $40/person. I liked seeing you do mostly desserts in this video since I feel like you're more of a cook than a baker. I'm definitely more of a baker than a cook. Also, I have a minor in French and studied abroad in France, and the way you said "mille feuilles" was the English pronunciation. The French pronunciation is more like "meel-fuhie" with more of an E vowel at the beginning and an U (uh) vowel at the end

The spread looks lovely! I'd say that the crumpets are likely mistaken though 😁 in the screenshot of the show they don't look like crumpets to me, the ones you made also seem to lack the signature sponginess, more rise and more/bigger holes on top. I'd definitely recommend looking into crumpets again! they are absolutely lovely and light, perfect with some butter and honey, and Warburtons (the main brand for shop bought crumpets) also released a recipe for them which personally for me works really well 😊 I can't buy them where I live but either way they are so much better than shop bought

Such an amazing video - absolutely loved it! I think the ones you confused with crumpets are actually Welsh cakes!

This was beautiful and elegant and inspiring. Do you have the recipes listed anywhere? Not sure it was of the era but cream cheese with dill elevates cucumber sandwiches and is typically used in most cream teas now. ❤

Apple Charlotte is named after Queen Charlotte. Really impressed with your skill, energy and stamina! I would be utterly exhausted making all that. Well done x

Wow this was so well-executed and aesthetic! I'm glad you got to enjoy the fruits of your labor with your friends. Your filming style is also very relaxing to watch. Would you consider trying something like this again with recipes from Zelda: Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom?
