How the dinosaurs of The lost World: Jurassic Park would look if their geno was pure, according to the current scientific knowledge. This is not a critique of the movie, but a mere analysis for educational purposes. Size comparison chart also included.

I love how you use film appropriate imagery for each film, and the use of warpath sound effects and music are especially good, as it’s one of the tie ins for the lost world. I suppose that JPOG and JWE are going to be used for the subsequent films. The sound effects for the creatures are a nice touch too.

I'm might be a paleo fan, but I didn't mind scientific inaccuracies when it comes to genetically engineered animals because it's realistic, given the fact genetic engineering is hard, and there are other people who didn't do their research who made the dinosaurs wrong either by accident or on purpose, like in Primeval or SyFy mockbuster movies.

I don't see how using "reptile" dna would change anything in-universe since it's a technobabble reason anyway (and in fact the most famous examples of non-sexual reproductions are precisely lizards), and yeah they had procedures in cases of breach. The movies are precisely there to show them fail spectacularly.

What I love is that you are not saying, "Jurassic Park doesn't do research. all of these dinosaurs are highly inaccurate" anyone who has watched the first movie or read the original book is aware that these are not real dinosaurs. they are genetically spliced clones borrowing DNA from modern animals to fill the holes in the genetic codes. as Dr. Grant said, "Genetic theme park monsters" of course they are not accurate, their DNA is not pure. If anything, I find this idea clever. science is constantly making updates on what dinosaurs look like so it can sometimes being hard to keep a consistent design as to what they looked like when more discoveries are made. T-Rex was bald, oh wait, now we know it had feathers, oh wait, now we know it may have lost its feathers when it became and adult so we're going back to bald, no wait, hear me out now, this is the newest discovery on what this animal may have looked like. I keep hearing so much back and forth So in my opinion, until we can 100% confirm what dinosaurs actually looked like, InGen's clones being purposely inaccurate because of impure DNA is actually genius. but again, it's just my opinion

@MarioLanzas.
@MarioLanzas. 3 жыл бұрын
The concept art at least was based on what is now Geosternbergia, the final design is more ambiguous. In any case Pteranodon appears in JP/// again with another design that fits longiceps better, so I considered this one to be Geosternbergia
@whitewolf3051
@whitewolf3051 3 жыл бұрын
@@MarioLanzas. Okay, I'll accept that. But also, longiceps seems to be the more popular one, as well as the more famous one. Given the head of longiceps as the head of Swoop of the Dinobots in Transformers, making an appearance in the 90s X-Men cartoons, showing up in the book form of Dinotopia, the mini series and short lived TV series of Dinotopia, and was the longest used pterosaur in most media in and out movies or TV shows. Anyways, because of all of that, I prefer the longiceps, but that's just me. I doubt anyone else prefers the longiceps over others the way I do.

If people could just stop hidding behind the usual "it's not dinosaurs , they are just genetically modified animals" to justify the fact producers STILL don't even try to make them realistic... Because they still want them to look scary and more impressive and are afraid to change their Raptors/Rexy mascots. Come on , the genetic thing was only there to explain how they were created ; There are no more excuses for the lack of realism in the JP franchise.

I'm surprised you left this one out; the compsagnathus in the movies is based on the original finds size, which has since been found to be a sub-adult, and much smaller thatn the adults were. Furthermore, the entire group of compsagnathids may well not even be valid, since there's growing evidence for them all being hatchling or other early life stages of other, larger theropods.
