Since you have been in Ingleside it made me think to go look up and see if the Buckhorn Saloon is still open. Apparently, yes. Good place to have a cold beer, if you like "old school" bars like I do.

Hey Todd. Definitely still open. I had a young lady that appeared in several of my videos that I would often drive from Portland over to the Buckhorn. It was her regular hang out. Now her regular hang out is literally the hang out here in Rockport.

Good morning friend. I like going over there. Not a whole lot happening on this trip. It's always hit or miss. Pretty cool history about the area. Seems like there's a lot of Scottish and Irish influence along the coast and then more German and Czech once you get to Hill country.

Good morning Doug. Hopefully when the government sold that land they got a premium price for it. I do remember driving by it years ago when it was an AB base. When they close this one I thought it was because the one in corpus was just across the bay, but they wound up shutting that one down as well.

Hey Donnie. There's a good app that I bought a few years ago that shows you the location of all the Texas historical markers and what they say. Pretty interesting. I've even found spots where people have stolen the markers in my travels.

Good evening Dennis! Sorry I've been away, just been a very, very busy few days. Today would have been a break for me had it not been for 10" of heavy white stuff that fell from the sky and needed to be cleaned up. I'm getting back in touch with the world over dinner now though. Nice to see the Ingleside waterfront, and that was a fantastic view of the New Harbor Bridge under construction. Neat to take it all in in one shot. Good morning friend. I really enjoy the historical markers. I would swear the last time I read that it said Irish, so of course I'm thinking of a different marker. Very cool how many of the markers along the coast say Irish and Scottish and the ones in England around Hill country tend to say German and Czech, I hope you're having a good day friend

Thanks for sharing your video! The historical marker you mention in your video is from my family yes I am a Hatch. My great great grandfather is George C Hatch. The marker was helped to become a historical marker by my aunt who was with the daughters of the republic of Texas. You can find more facts about Texas History and the Hatch’s at the Corpus Christi library or articles in the Corpus Christi caller times archives news paper written by reporter Gibbns Thanks for sharing your video😇
