he says bravo because DeCocco's pronunciation (which is as american as it can be to a native ear) is the last nail in the coffin: it confirms Landa's suspects BUT wasn't even needed at that time, he was already sure of their mala fede, so he cuts it short, there's no need for more trolling.

Secondly, I love how he play his character when he knows that they are all lying and just loses it. Makes me laugh all the time. And lastly, I love how he has the Americans repeat their Italian names because they know they are full of it, but when he goes to the third guy, who claimed in the previous scene he doesn't know how to speak Italian, actually gives him a passing approval of his Italian. Just the irony behind it always gets a chuckle out of me.

I know most everyone is raving about Christoph Waltz but I was also so impressed by Diane Kruger! She is also playing a role within a role, and her expressions are priceless especially as she realises their mission is compromised. She also really behaves like someone from that time, even down to the mannerisms of some big movie star as I imagine it.
@keeptaiwanfree

i was just thinking that too! she is an amazing actor, she and christoph really made this movie incredible to watch. it feels like her character is so real, like she was a real person who existed during that time.

@@TheMaestro116 yeah, though to be fair Troy wasn't friendly to any of the women... really dumb texto for their parts, no Ecuba, no Pentesileia, no Amazons, Andromache was made a coward, Briseida that I assume represents Cassandra decided to sleep with the enemy, the God's roles in the myth were subtracted from the story... Helen herself was simply a prize and there was nothing the actress could do but stand there and just look pretty. It was really a modern take to gratify modern young men, I mean, even Patroclus was changed from Achilles' lover to his cousin. This movie was never written for the women in the story to shine... Eurypides wouldn't approve of it XD Excellent fighting on that Hector vs Achilles duel though.

Tarantino is a master director not leaving anything to hazard and paying attention to everything. Before this scene none of the actors has never seen Waltz and he made sure the identity of the actor playing this role is unknown to them. His intention was to make the shot from the first time and include all the natural tension resulting from a first time encounter with such a charismatic character. Also he wanted to avoid any competition from Brad Pitt and the others towards Waltz and trying to over act the scene since he knew they can't cope with such an act ! Finally noteworthy is that Tarantino had the movie idea almost ten years in beforehand, and he waited until he met Christopher Waltz and then he said to himself, this is my guy who is going to deliver the movie
