Inheritance Just Banned Drought. But Why?

Inheritance is an Other Metagame available on Pokemon Showdown that allows players to in a way, inherit the movepool and ability from any other available Pokemon. Recently though last month, Drought, the ability that brings in sun to the battlefield, has been banned, and corely or it's use alongside Iron Moth.

Thanks for watching! I'll be back with a longer post next week, also just to clear up, you don't keep your ability if you inherit one from another pokemon, hence why Iron Moth takes Drought and not a Protosynthesis user

Dedicated sun teams were what arguably got drought banned from the tier imo. These teams used Deoxys D or Iron hands as setters and instead had Iron moth with sheer force or protosynthesis, with teamates such as chandelure and firepon. While Ninetales' movepool still sucks for support, you at least have it on a pokemon with good bulk and typing, and it still had healing wish, great for hyper offense structures. You chucked in some magic bounce pokemon for hazard control, your standard issue Av GoodraH and just got to clicking. Great video! You should make some guides to some of these OMs so that people learn more about them

Thank you a lot, I wish I did enough research on this topic but I was really busy making this video (kind of wish I'd held the topic off til I had time lol) but what you said is really good information! I've thought about making a video covering a Core or synergy for each Metagame, as well as a Sample team to go along with it to get people started (Similar to Jimothy Cools video covering Cores in every OU Generations Metagame), but the video may take a while as it takes more than just typical research for it Thank you for the comment, I'm glad you still enjoyed the video :)

This tier sounds complicated and a nightmare to balance. So you pick a Pokemon as a base and choose another Pokemon for the first one to take the movepool and abilities from? What sets this tier apart from Balanced Hackmons?

Well the tier is pretty balanced out by the fact that to inherit from a Pokemon you typically face some sort of loss, Kyurem for example loses a lot of their special coverage if they inherit from Hisuian Lilligant. But again the tier is different because in Balanced Hackmons you take whatever you want with very very little limiting of choices, in inheritance you have to plan it out, giving a Pokemon an inheritance from one Pokemon almost always comes with a Drawback but also a Benefit be it better moves, better abilities, or a utility option, hope this explained it well
