pvl causes spastic qauraplegia...although spastic diplegia is most common... cystic encephalomalacia is more concerned with seizures...source.n elson..

Can you quote the exact page number. Cerebral palsy chapter is 638.1 in Nelson 2024. The table clearly mentions - spastic quadriplegia association with cystic encephalomalacia

@@babydoctorjourney jo nelson ka table hai usmai dono likhi hai... but jo uskya baad likha hai wo aisa hai... cystic encephalomalcia is a broader term includes pvl and other parts of brain...pvl is more specific for spastic Qudraplegia ..

Its Chronic malnutrition only no Mam ? As the Weight for height is normal, there’s no wasting… Stunting alone present with no wasting means Chronic… How would that be acute on chronic. -1.7 SD is normal for W/H, you have said it’s abnormal.

You can see weight for age is severely affected below -3SD indicating that weight is affected severely here. Weight for height here won’t be that reliable as height is affected by the factor of chronic malnutrition. I hope things are clearer now

If you look at SAM child, subcutaneous fat is lost, so their eyes look sunken irrespective of dehydration. So here if we take this finding into account, we can overestimate dehydration

Recent Ghai says 5% Dextrose with 0.2-0.45%NS with 20mEq/L provided urine output is adequate. But, Nelson clearly mentions in bold italics text “isotonic fluids with D5 are recommended as standard maintenance fluid except in neonates
