The secondary rotary in Keisuke's FD wasn't working after it sustained a lot of wear so it was slower to accelerate after exiting each corners. But it still had the advantage on the straights, until Keisuke was overtaken at the gutter hairpins like you saw here.

Hammer Bro 19 you’re wrong. There is no secondary rotary. For one, you mean turbine, it had a twin-turbo. For two, it was likely still working. The problem was that he was going against a slower car that could keep up with him which made him question why he felt so slow all of a sudden. It’s possible the secondary turbine was still spinning, it’s just that since he was being cornered by a slower car it gave him the impression his car was slower than usual.

@@Forever.Sleepy Well, the entire story for this game was not only uploaded already but properly translated so I never saw a point in uploading more of the story. This video was meant to get my friends into the game for races. On top of that, I'm not all that good at the game so I rarely play online anymore. If I ever get the chance again, I might upload translated clean runs of previous games such as special stage, which follows the manga plot quite closely.

Does the game really have the drainage ditch Takumi supposedly hooks his wheel to in the anime to make such a tight turn on one of the last turns?

Yes. On Akina specifically there are multiple drainage ditches across the map, even outside the 5 hairpins. It's actually why it seems like I'm slamming into the inside wall on some corners, but really I'm using the ditch to turn reliably at a high speed.

Now my question is does the game actually have a physics engine that makes the drainage ditches hold onto the momentum of the vehicle or do you win the race through a scripted event by hugging those corners the right way?

The game actually holds your momentum while in the drainage ditch indeed. For high level time trial players or competitive 1v1 players, its mandatory to use all the ditches over drifting to avoid a massive speed loss. It's a nice mechanic once you figure it out :)

You still need to keep the wheel turned in the direction you're turning with the gutter to avoid speed loss. However you need to counter steer a little to leave the gutter once your turn is completed to avoid the inside wall. Otherwise you'll start scraping against said wall.

Looking back, I always loved how this RivalSide is basically a huge nostalgia trip to the anime as a whole. Also never bothered to use the New ID movie voice actors, and still to this day stuck to as many of the OG voice actors as possible.

レイ 嫌な気持ちにさせてしまうかもしれないけど、残念ながら家庭用ゲームに移植されることは100%ないです。 理由として ・レジェンドの映画の放送 この映画で本来の声優でなく、別の声優で収録したため今更前の声優で収録するとはならないし、当人達が了承しない。またゲームでは重要な役割になる文太の声優は去年亡くなってしまったため、よしんばやっても文太の声は別になる。 ・やはりGTなどと比べてニーズが低いため出しても利益が出ない。 ・家庭用ゲームとして出すならゲームのオリジナル曲が必要となるが、頭文字DのOPを歌うことの多いm.o.v.eがすでに解散している。 以上の3点の理由から残念ながら移植はないと思います。 しかし当の私も家庭用ゲームが出るなら是非買ってやりたい身です。 でもでないとわかっているため、願わくば古い筐体をメインにおくようなゲームセンターが多くできるか、あわよくばaa.aaxの筐体をガチで買う気でいます。 長文失礼しました。

How did you get in to the gutters. When i try to enter the gutter with drifting I get a massiv Speed Lose to 80 km/h. And when I enter the gutter normally then i getting out of the gutter and smash frontal with the guardrail. And I als have to brake at the corners ( with the gutters) or I miss the gutters and even with braking i miss the gutters mostly. And if I getting out of the gutters then i Hit the Opposite guardrail even with 110 km/h.

秋名山のコースってのは 分かるけれど所々壁に当たってて減速するのにギアを上げてるけれどそれはあまりしてはいけない。後カーブ曲がるときあまり減速してないから膨れてると3→2にして3秒で戻すってやり方の方がより速く走れる。

It sucks how the replay clip covers the gas and brake HUD. I'm trying to do the race myself and it's a pain in the ass because I'm trying to practice double brake cancel (brake, gas, gas, release brake), and I can't get closer than 30 meters to him, then at the gutters I can't seem to do it in a good way (I do decently but he always speeds up really quickly after the fourth hairpin). I even have the .cfg file set so that the difficulty is 0 (Very Easy) and I still can't do it. I thought it makes opponents easier but I don't think it really does much of anything. Help?

Sorry about that. I didn't think the pedal inputs to be too necessary since this wasn't exactly a fast run compared to other TA players. The race is scripted so that no matter how fast you are, you will always be behind Keisuke until the consecutive hairpins. That is the only time your speed matters because if you don't overtake him there, he'll speed up faster than the player's possible top speed. Afaik, the difficulty setting in the test menu and files only affect the total amount of time given to you to finish a race. If you're looking for pedal inputs that isn't crazy difficult but decent enough to pull off fast hairpins, my latest video is a PVP match with the inputs that you can emulate. My actual advice to finish this race however is to just focus on your gutter run, since Keisuke no longer keeps up with you as long as you overtake him. All I really do is just gas off, shift to 3rd to slow down without braking, and slam yourself into the wall applying gas once you're at the apex. I find that it's almost impossible to actually impact the wall when the gutter is there, so don't be too afraid to slam your car into it.

@@akumati86 I'll try that when I start up the emulator later. I was watching a tutorial on doing the technique I was talking about, and they were doing it on Usui Uphill. It's easy on there because of the nice, wide turns and wide road. Akina's different, full of hairpins with shorter, winding roads, making it harder to do. Either I do it too late or too early, there's no in between.
