To people complaining about the physics: Initial D doesn't aim for complete realism. In fact it's one of the more realistic arcade racer series out there, I own a pair of Version 2 machines and it's a perfect mix of realism and fast arcade fun. The Cruis'n series and the Fast and Furious series for example, are completely unrealistic with their backflipping cars and shit. Initial D is much more hardcore and takes a while to get great times like the one in this video. It's as close as it gets without being a simulator and overly slow. Sadly American arcades really only have the more childish racers and Americans have turned their noses to Initial D. SEGA stopped exporting the series after Version 4 because most American gamers suck at the series and didn't like that it takes time to be good at it. The last time there was a major arcade racing simulator, it was SEGA's Ferrari F355 Challenge 1 and 2 from 1999 and 2000. Sadly the damn truth is that 90% of arcade racers have come to incredibly unrealistic physics, but Initial D is at least hardcore in the competative time attack department.
@BayAreaRushHour7 жыл бұрын
I'll be honest I wasn't a big fan of the initial d arcade stages after 3. I haven't tried 5 tho but 4 and 6 were much more arcade like, easier to pick up cuz of the driftier physics, and 8 I have to resist the temptation to crank the wheel like in 3 cuz that game really punishes you for turning at more than a 90 degree angle. 3 I thought was the right amount of realism mixed with its arcade physics. But yeah I'm always disappointed when I walk into an arcade and the only thing they've got is those fast n furious games where you pump the gas twice to do a wheelie and backflip, and taking turns is as simple as turning the wheel

It’s nice of your to mention Sega F355. I have a twin F355 machine and it is a lovely machine to own. I used to play that game as a child and thought it was wayyyy to hard. Now I have mastered it and love it. KUDO for the shout out

This game is an arcade game. Not a sim. Also it’s a game based off an anime. You need to get your head screwed on tighter if you think this should be more realistic. Also it takes lots of practice to be good like this so I don’t see the point your trying to make.

Scroto Saggins True, I think this stereotype stuck during Generation X (60's-80's) when flocks of immigrants moved into America. Back in this era, most Asian countries were a lot more rural, and most people never driven a car so it was very much a new thing to learn. According to the statistics by NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), people of Asian ethnicity are involved in 50% overall less motor accidents (fatal and non-fatal) compared to other ethnicities in America. From personal experience, most wrecks I've seen are usually old folks, valley girls on their cell phones, or wanksters who lean their seat back all the way with no control of their cars.
@ThePrototypev910 жыл бұрын
Asian is too broad when referring to video games. Korean would better fit. Asians as a whole are more stereotyped for maths.
