Thanks it turned out longer than I expected but there’s a lot to see initially! Future videos should be under 10 minutes

Cool Video. Do you have a hardening Guide for the FortiGuard?
@gregabyte_ioАй бұрын
I don't but there is always the Hardening section in the Best Practices docs. docs.fortinet.com/document/fortigate/7.6.0/best-practices/555436/hardening

I received my IP stack from my ISP, but I am receiving an error message/invalid when I apply it to my FortiGate LAN interface. Any suggestions about how to resolve?

You will likely not get to use your public IP. I have mine set to a secondary IP and have the ISP router set to forward traffic for that IP to my firewall. Otherwise, look into using DDNS which is built in as long as you use the FortiGuard DNS Servers.

Just a question Greg! I know that the forti link ports run forti link protocol which are only compatible with Forti switches but let's say if I do connect my Cisco/Juniper/Aruba switch to the forti link ports, will it still work as normal ?

Great question! I haven't tried it out but that's easy enough to test out and post! My initial thought would be that it would not work as it's configured to talk to a FortiSwitch but I may be wrong on that.

I released a video and blog post on something similar to this recently. I have also tried what you asked and it doesn’t work and isn’t supported.

the 2 x 10G sfp+ ports, one can use one for the network uplink from 10G ISP and the second to a layer 3/4 10G switch right?
@gregabyte_io7 ай бұрын
That is correct! You can change any interface to anything else.
