Could be me, but... I think when it comes to Very Hard, you should stick to a combo you know even backwards, and to leave all the flashy combos for lower difficulties. It takes a lot of time and effort to master a single character to not only do the combos but also adapt using their move sets. Hell, Batman is my main and I still sometimes struggle with adapting.
