I just watched that scene straight after I saw this trailer. That's the only real negative is that it's not Ironside. Marth I don't think it's ever explained why they move like that it behaves a lot like a missile. They're already locked on to whatever Darkseid wants them to hit. No matter how many turns they make, how many stops they pull, once Darkseid sees you and singles you out, they'll follow you until they hit you.

+Marth The beams are not the ability itself, it's a phenomenon called the Omega Effect, which Darkseid has absolute control over. Technically it can manifest in any way he pleases, but he tends to prefer using it in beam form. His absolute control over the Omega Effect can be seen by his ability to directly manipulate the beam itself, even doing sharp turns and all sorts of other weird behavior, even changing what they actually do. They can be an annoyance to his enemies or even erase them from time completely. Basically, fighting him is unfair to pretty much anyone that isn't a New God like he is. The New Gods are the actual gods of the DC universe, with Darkseid being the god of evil and hatred. There are a few non-gods that can best him, such as the Anti-Monitor, but those people are few and far between.
