That was "explained" (for lack of a better word) in the story mode of the game and/or the comic version, with anyone who normally couldn't survive this kind of abuse (Batman, Catwoman, Harley etc.) taking what were essentailly "tough as a kryptonian" pills. It does seem like there's some disparity among all of these super moves and their lethalities, though. Solomon Grundy slashes you, chokeslams you and breaks a tombstone over your head. One thing that kinda bugged me in Injustice: Gods Among Us, is that these Super Moves, No matter where you fight, some of them always have an Earth in a semi-cinematic moments, even in spite of some of the locations don't even take place on Earth, like the Watchtower. Flash, Doomsday, Sinestro, General Zod, Lex Luthor, and Superman, (and presumably Hawkgirl, and SHAZAM, and Batgirl) all have these kind of Super Moves.

Yeah, I agree. Injustice had more punch than the second part. What I noticed is that the camera in the second part is closer, so the combatants always stand closer together and take more of the screen while in the first part, they could be further apart and you saw more of the background crumbling. There is also something to be said about the colour pallet being a little bit colder and the characters looking rougher in the first game. In the second, the colours are a bit warmer and I dunno, but more emphasis is put on their facial movement, which makes them look a bit weird. Its just small things I noticed and I do suspect that that is the reason why they feel less powerful.
